They did not and most other leagues won't follow suit. Meaning other leagues can still pursue players in the PL after our window closing.
Also a good article on how our good deals were completed early and how we overpaid towards the end. 'Chelsea made their sharpest deals early in the summer transfer window' via @fansided https://theprideoflondon.com/2017/09/07/chelsea-transfers-early-window/
Good point. We'll see. I don't see this boding well for us. The issue isn't necessarily our players getting poached IMO it's players from other leagues holding out and going elsewhere.
A strong showing in both champions league and EPL this season could help change that. Players want to go where their going to win.
According to the BBC they did "The early finish will not mean the Premier League's transfer window is shorter as it will start earlier and be 12 weeks long, in line with Fifa rules." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/41188235
What do you guys think about chasing Lemar from Monaco. It would be a record breaker and I doubt the board would sign off on it but we need improved wing play opposite Hazard and he's young.
Our system doesn't call for a traditional winger. He may or may not be but something needs to be done there. And it's going to require breaking the transfer fee.
i meant he's not really a wide player, and I'm not sure we need to break a record. Certainly not for Lemar.
You can certainly disagree on breakin it on him and I'm not sure I think we should either but it will need to be if we're going to get the top players. Let alone an attacking player.
SSN is reporting Diego to Atleti is really close as Atleti have hit a breakthrough in negotiations with us.
At one point Chelsea owned Lukaku,Debruyne, and Salah. Who can we blame for selling such talented players? Chelsea gave up on these players way too early in their careers!
