I don't understand how a sale of a player to another club is announced a year in advance? How would you all feel if hazard signed for madrid but starts next year? If said player has a crappy game, it's automatically assumed their head is in another place. Doesn't make sense to me.

Oh, sure! I'd do that deal too! But we do need depth this season.

This isn't exactly true. I got this pic from a friend this AM. I had him go ahead and print off some of the posts where we talk about Draxler and he's taking a jet ski out to hand deliver them. Should see some development on this by tomorrow AM.

Lots of rumors picking up on this. Paul is pretty plugged in as well.

    Our depth chart

    Hazard-----------Morata------------Pedro/Willian
    Xxxxxx------------Michy-------------Willian/Pedro

    Alonso-----Baka/Cesc-----Kante--Moses
    Xxxxx-------Cesc/Baka-----xxxx------Ox

    Cahill-------------Luiz------------Azpui
    Rudiger-------Christensen-----xxxx

    -------------------Courtios--------------
    --------------------Willy------------------

Willian or Pedro depending on form/contes plan could change. Same for Cesc and Baka. Ox can cover both wingbacks. If Drinkwater is next thats another slot filled. And I doubt we add another CB. Better but not great.

Should have had the word lineup there. If we're using both Kante and Bakayoko, we don't need players like Willian to track back as much.

    Musonda? up front Willian/Pedro/Hazard
Kenedy as cover for Alonso? Ox can cover both left and right wing back positions and also as a winger.

Barkley? The rumour is If Spurs sign Barkley then they are saying bye bye to Dele Ali next season when he can leave on a free.

Was it Drinkwater? Chelsea have been linked with a surprise move for wantaway Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez.

We'll see. The football world moves fast. We signed Willian only 4 years ago but it feels like 100. But Pool are doing the right things, but not sure they will hang on to Coutinho.

Ox and Drink seem imminent, but I still feel we need 4 more players after that! Am I wrong?

Well ideally yes, but probably Musonda, Kenedy will fill up the holes at LW/LWB spots in the squad. Might add another CF.
Ill be surprised if we add another CB

Still raw but has a great ceiling. Also much better passer than Kante Imo.

Costa to Atleti for £40m, and Llorente to Chelsea for £15m are the rumors I'm seeing aside from Ox's deal being nearly done.

Llorente for 15m isn't terrible considering the market.

If it makes Conte comfortable to have Llorente (at age 32!!) then let's do it. But I still think Michy would be valuable to keep around rather than loan out.

The Costa rumors were around last week. Annoying how long these deals take to get done. But imagine all the red tape and beuracracy and agents and hangers on.

Michy needs to play and I'd rather loan him and let him get PT. But I still don't like Llorente for 15. Make it 10 and well loan them Tammy for a second year in a row.

I like getting Mahrez if true. He gives us more depth and a player that I think can return to his form of two years ago. The system we play is tailor made to his strengths and cover for his weakness.

Mahrez hasn't looked very good for awhile now.

If Llorente leaves Swansea, they might go splash some cash from him and Sigurddson to get Bony back, pushing Tammy down the order.
