Genoa was on BeIN Sports two days ago and lost their fourth consecutive game. They haven't scored in their last three games and are 2 points above the relegation zone.

Genoa is at Sassuolo on beIN Sport in the USA on Sunday at 9:00 A.M. USA Eastern. Genoa has won their first two games 3:1, putting them in fourth despite having played one fewer game than almost everybody else due to last week's game being postponed.

Genoa is down to 16th. Today they ended their four game losing streak with a 2:2 draw hosting Crotone, who had only 9 points from 19 games before today.

Great draw in Firenze last weekend. A chaotic second half led to two quick goals to level it at 2 - 2. Simeone with a perfect penalty to level it 3 - 3 at the end. The handball call was probably harsh on Bernardeschi, seeing as his arm was down and the shot was so close to him, but he did stop a sure goal with his arm. Overall a great point for il Grifone at a difficult stadium.

But damn, how good does Chiesa look? He might end up a better player than Bernardeschi -- I feel like he's got a higher ceiling. Good technique/skill and he fights for everything. Kalinić keeps scoring, as well.

I've been really impressed with the kid and still so young. Have to admit that I like him a little bit more because he's Enrico's son.

Me too, of course. But you can clearly see him improving every match.

Serie A normally has two games on Saturdays, but today there's only one. At 2:45 P.M. USA Eastern on BeIN Sports, Genoa hosts rival Sampdoria.

Please make sure to keep developing him and Bernardeschi, they'll fit in nicely at Milan soon and with Berlusca's plan of having an all Italian youth squad grow into champions.

Genoa had 1 win out of 18 games before they beat Inter Milan 1-0. Inter Milan had a penalty kick in the 87th minute that Genoa saved.

After losing to 19th place Palermo, Genoa still could be relegated two seasons after they finished sixth. Luckily for them, Crotone has to play Juventus and Lazio.

Genoa beat Cesena 2-1 in the Coppa Italia in Extra Time. Genoa opened their Serie A season with a scoreless draw at Sassuolo. Genoa is now hosting Juventus, and Genoa took the lead in the first minute from a Miralem Pjanic own goal. Then an Andrey Galabinov penalty kick after a VAR review gave Genoa a 2-0 lead in the 7th minute. It was the first time since 15 January that Juventus trailed 2-0 in Serie A. Paulo Dybala scored for Juventus in the 14th minute.

    Cagliari 2-3 Genoa

In their eighth game, Genoa got their first win to get them to 5 points and out of the relegation zone. Genoa had only 43% of the possession but had 11 shots on target. It was the first time Genoa scored at least 3 goals in a Serie A win since a 3-1 win hosting Juventus on 27 November 2016, which was 33 games ago. Cagliari has lost their last four games.

    Genoa 0-1 Udinese

Genoa played their sixth consecutive Serie A game with 0 or 1 combined goal. Genoa's games have had 40 combined goals, which is the fewest in Serie A. The next fewest is a tie with 48.

6 consecutive with one or zero combined goal is just... That's crazy.

    http://www.fifa.com/news/y=2018/m=2/news=the-week-in-numbers-2.html says:

"10 successive Serie A games between Genoa and Inter Milan have resulted in home victories. Two players who have played for both clubs – Andrea Ranocchia, who got an own-goal, and Goran Pandev – helped I Rossoblu win 2-0 in Liguria on Saturday. The away side has now failed to score in the last six meetings between the teams."

Genoa's win in my last post included an Inter Milan own goal by Andrea Ranocchia, who wasn't trying to touch the ball. Genoa sent the ball near the goal with nobody forward. An Inter defender tried kicking the ball away from his goal, but it hit Ranocchia, changed direction, and went in.

Today Genoa scored in the 90th minute to win 2-1 hosting Cagliari. Genoa passed Udinese for 12th. Cagliari would have passed Genoa with a win. Even with today's goals, Genoa has scored only 24, which is exactly 0.8 per game, which is the third fewest in Serie A. Their 31 goals allowed is the fifth fewest. Genoa has failed to score twice as many times as they have scored at least 2. They have only scored more than 2 goals once, when they scored 3 in a 3-2 win at Cagliari that I mentioned 5 posts ago. Starting after a 4-2 loss hosting Juventus in their second game, Genoa has gone 28 consecutive games without scoring or allowing more than 3.

Genoa played a scoreless draw against the club they share a stadium with, Sampdoria. It was a home game for Sampdoria, who had better statistics. Sampdoria is in 9th and Genoa is in 12th. Genoa has allowed 31 goals in 31 games, and has the fewest goals allowed by a club not in the top four.
