Canouse is great and relentless, but he had something like 4 fouls in less than 10 minutes in the second half, was a joke he didn't get yellow for persistent. While DC is definitely ATL's bogey team, this looked more like rust from too much time off---something to keep in mind for top two playoff seeds.
Already saw two of my teams lose today (Blackburn 0-2 to f***ing Burnley at home in the League Cup, Hoffenheim 2-4 at Anfield in the CL qualification playoffs) and probably going to add a third. Colorado rolling out the B team tonight and saving everyone for the Rocky Mountain Cup match on Saturday. I actually agree with the move, even if it means I'll likely go 0-3 today.
It's 3 pts for TFC, but I have a feeling that Vanney might regret not rotating the lineup a bit more considering TFC will be playing a rested Mtl at the Cheese Factory (aka Stade Saputo). Philly sucks so bad that TFC could have won using mostly depth players.
That was outside the box, sure, but it was a definite foul and Dallas should have had a kick at the edge of the 18.
What the heck just happened--why wasn't that play VAR? They needed to determine if a foul and where it was. VAR needs an override for clearly awful reffing, that was a comical miss of a clear foul on Barrios.
Crew fan, so not totally unbiased, but anyway... I'm not sold on the red card. The clearest replay was one from behind the endline that I only saw on the halftime highlight package, and it really isn't that bad of a foul. If it had been called DOGSO, I'd be more forgiving, but it was listed officially (last time I checked) as SFP. VAR probably did the right thing by not overruling, as it was pretty subjective. On the offside decision... nope. That's absolutely the right call. Pedro is in an offside position, three yards from goal, right in front of the Columbus keeper, and he has the ball go right over his head, while making a move towards it. Whether he touches it or not, he's interfering with active play, and possible gaining an advantage from being in that position. I don't see any argument for how that CAN'T be offside.
Seemed like it was both a potential red and a potential penalty, but Toledo deemed it not even a foul.
Timbers sponsored a Twitch video? https://www.twitch.tv/goldglove What? Edit: Oh, it's only for the pregame.
Seriously asking ... how can you tell the starting quality guys from the backups on the Rapids? I think you are making too much of who Pablo and company CHOSE to start vs who was clearly the best. Seems like a whole lot of the same player on the Rapids roster to me.
RSL with consecutive home games this week. Last time they played consecutive games at home, they went tie-tie-tie with three goals scored, so I am not optimistic this time around.
I know that Gatt, Da Fonte, Williams, and Serna are not starting quality guys. Also have a bit of inside info that the team is intentionally playing a test lineup tonight and saving themselves for the RMC.
Penalty for Seattle. Half of the Whitecaps plead their case to the Ref. He doesn't change his mind. My biggest pet peeve in soccer is players bugging the ref to change a penalty call. It never happens, just shut up.
Luis Silva with a goal in three consecutive games after none the rest of the season. He's on a hot streak for sure. 1-0 Salt Lake.
