I know we (Battery fans) were very, very lucky and blessed to have Tony Bakker as our majority owner for so many years. He was a pioneer in a country that didn't give 2 shites about soccer in 1993 (and some would say that's mainly still the case). To think he built a little club in little Charleston that's still around today all the while losing a ton of his own money along the way, well, we couldn't have dreamed for anything better than that.

So when the new guy bought the farm, my first concern was, I'm not so worried about making things better, I was just hoping he wouldn't tear things down. Would we stay a professional team? Would we drop to PDL? Would we not even have a soccer team at all and just use the stadium as an event venue? I won't say all my fears have completely vanished but if he has a vision of someday getting into MLS, I guess that means he still has long term plans to run a professional soccer team, so for me, that's a good start to Act 2.
