"Injured" or injured is the question.

We still have those magical couple of years when he and Bolton were flying high. Their trajectories seem tied together at this point..

Don't know why returning to K-League is seen as the miracle solution.

Is that a legit question? Pretty sure even Jeonbuk will use him as a regular starter.

Yeah I really wonder why we always want Korean players to be back to K-League. It is the easy solution we suggest everytime they face hard times.
Sometimes it is useful (CDR's case for example) but some other time not (look at KJS level).
Sure, LCY would have high chance to start but will he have the international level required to play a WC ?

LCY should try himself for a smaller league before returning to Asia. It is not easy because he may lack offers. But he could try the trial way. I am pretty sure he is still good enough for a mid table team from let's say Eredivisie. And that'd be still better than any Asian league imo.

He should still be good enough to start for our NC lol.
Probably he could try to return to Bolton?

based on what for the past 2-3 yrs? he doesn't have the legs anymore... consistent mins at K league (or any other lesser league) isn't going to make a much difference at this point of his career imo. of course, i still expect him to make the WC (should KNT qualify) purely based on his close connection w/ core leaders & international experience

some wingers can be depended onto becoming a decent attacking midfielder after they age as long as they improve their touches and playmaking skills but i dont see lee chungyongs career trajectory heading that way. maybe a season or two of consistent playing time at another european league will change my mind. unlike some of his friends in europe (koo jachul, park jooho) hes actually made decent money up until this point. if he has any interest in ending his career on a good note he needs to convince his wife and whoever else he takes care of he has to be playing at the highest level possible. sometimes wallet suffers

Sure. But that's complicated to know his real level since he didn't play that much last years. The most important thing is to get playing time from his club no matter where he plays.
