Beyond crazy, he was the Ander Herrera of his cycle with better defending. Must have crazy work ethic.
http://valencia.eldesmarque.com/lev...emporada-evidencia-las-necesidades-del-equipo Snip (translated): The first encounter of preparation for the return to First Division was finished with a forceful victory on the part of the Levant UD and with a handful of good feelings like poso of what happened in La Nucía. Nevertheless, the premiere in preseason showed the needs of the team in terms of signings as it was the cateranos, Shaq, 'Káiser' and Pepelu, who acted in the posts to reinforce in the first squad during the summer market in the absence of Effective. As improvised extreme Shaq Moore was one of the most outstanding in the first half. The North American side found the lack of arguments in the bands with which Muñiz counts, the Asturian coach threw the hand of the canterano ahead of a few meters his position and although the experiment went well, the sports direction looks for troops that reinforce the sides of the whole granota. Jason and Morales are the only players today who play that role in the team, also Rubén can act on the bands. Up to two players could face the lack of extremes in the team. Manu Viana replaced Bardhi, showing up as a possibility.
We've got so many prospects to track I forgot about Shaq. Damn, if he can break in and get some time for Levante this yr as a 20 yr old, quite impressive.
This is low-key the biggest story of the season. If Shaq Moore of all people plays in La Liga, I will eat even more crow than when Gyau played a game for BVB.
I feel like I remember his touch being awful. How can he be this close to the first team at Levante I wonder.
I stand by what I said two summers ago. The general evaluation of his performance and profile on BS was just off. That cycle earned him a professional contract, in Spain not Scotland.
Well the last couple pages of this thread have been an interesting read, someone mentioned the name Shaq Moore in another thread, which is a name I haven't even thought of since New Zealand. I just assumed he was one of those players that cracks a U20 squad due to weird circumstances and ends up in USL shortly after. That lead me to his Wikipedia page, which lead to me to this thread and boy was it a surprise. Regardless of how this ends up going it's damn impressive that he got to this point and he deserves credit for it. A RB on a first team in La Liga is absolutely nothing to scoff at.
My point was that he got a contract at a very low level. It did not seem promising (to me) and seemed to bear out that he wasn't a very high-level prospect.
Are there any recent videos of him playing with Levante that we can go off? Big Foot is easier to track right now
IIRC, Moore was a solid enough defender with the U20s but was excruciatingly uncomfortable on the ball. I thought his technical deficiencies represented an irredeemable liability at the time. I doubt he'll ever be a wizard but he must have improved considerably in that department to even be under consideration for a La Liga squad.

That was my recollection as well. It really will be found money if he ends up in the squad for a La Liga team. I like to think that I've gotten pretty good at picking u-17/u-20 players who won't make it at the senior level, but I'll be happy to be wrong on this one.
Shaq played the second half of a friendly vs. Real Murcia of the Spanish third tier. http://valencia.eldesmarque.com/lev...anquinegra-con-victoria-frente-al-real-murcia Snip (translated): Shaq Moore became the only change at the beginning of the second period replacing Iván López, player by player. Forming an integral defense formed by players of the Levante Athletic with Shaq, Joel, Kaiser and Aly. Levante veteran right back and captain Pedro Lopez suffered an injury, it seems to translate as a small muscle tear in his left leg, and is doubtful to be ready before the start of the season, leaving Ivan Lopez and Shaq at right back, and increasing the possibility Shaq may be on their opening-day La Liga squad. http://valencia.eldesmarque.com/lev...atiempo-en-forma-de-lesion-para-el-levante-ud Snip (translated): Iván López is the only piece that Juan Ramón López Muñiz handles for the right side of the back and Shaq Moore, although he has played as a winger in preseason, is shown as a possibility for the first competitive matches in case [Pedro Lopez] is not one hundred percent.
