Back in league action against a Real Salt Lake team that is having a very forgettable season, but are coming off a 2-6 road win against the Galaxy. RSL plays in Portland tomorrow (Wednesday) night, so they will be coming off of short rest. MLS.com has Chris Shuler listed at one yellow away from a suspension, but I'm pretty sure they haven't updated that since before the LA-RSL game was played, in which case he would have picked up a good behavior incentive. MLS has been pretty terrible about updating their disciplinary report in any reasonable amount of time this year. Le sigh.

Interesting tidbit: RSL have not tied a game since March 25th this year. They've gone 6-0-10 since.

    Injuries:
    Kansas City:
OUT: D - Ike Opara (concussion)
    Salt Lake:
OUT: F - Chad Barrett (knee surgery, 4-6 months)
    OUT: M - Jordan Allen (knee surgery 6/30, 6-7 months) - READ
OUT: M - Omar Holness (knee injury)
QUESTIONABLE: M - Sunny (hamstring injury)
    F - Brooks Lennon (ankle injury 7/7) - REPORT

Interested in who starts with EPB with Ike likely out. I would like to see Didic rather than Ellis.

No, it won't be interesting, it'll be Ellis.

Well, considering RSL hasn't drawn in a while and PV will most likely start Ellis instead of a true center back, this probably will be a draw. Let's just hope it's not nil-nil. Ugh.

RSL has won their last 2 road games, and scored 10 goals in those 2 games. They also won't have Beckerman (unless they challenge the red card, which I could certainly see them doing).

This game just got a lot more interesting, IMO. The LA game a few weeks ago looked like an anomaly, but now that it's happened twice in a row I think we have to take it a little more seriously. On the other side, we've got the best defense in the league, but we're without our two starting centerbacks for this one. I'm comfortable with EPB, but I'm not comfortable with Ellis when has to play beside a newcomer CB and SAS. Mistakes in the back will be made. Unless Melia stands on his head (which is a realistic possibility), it's going to be incredibly difficult to get a shut out out of this one, methinks.

Also remember that Portland is on their like 5th string back line right now. And played over 30 minutes down a man.

Sounds like Beckerman's suspension was upheld, so he will be out.

Always a good thing when the all time bookings leader in your league is suspended. Thank you Portland. Kenny thanks you as well.

Anyone know where I can find that list for the channel lookup for fox sports Kc plus? Please and thank you. I have little faith the royals game and post game will be done in 3 hrs. Can't seem to find the Plus on my guide or on the online lookup.

    RSL 1 - 0 SKC

And that's why you don't play Kevin Ellis at center back. He pulls his own defense apart.

How about two halftime subs PV? C'mon. How about Didic and Dwyer on for Ellis and Rubio. Pretty please.

I wouldn't be so hard on Fox. That was a ferocious storm that hit during the game and a lot of stations lost their feed. Many parts of KC lost power and lots of damage.

Do you not recall the horrible remote SKC did for the game at San Jose last year? Seriously, I can see giving the benefit of the doubt due to the storm, but their overall batting average on simply bringing the game is poor.

Ok so was Petke a whiney little b**** at nyrb too, or is this just the RSL effect taking its toll on him?

From what I can tell from clippings and whatnot, RSL have got to feel hard done by the officiating last night (for good reason), but cmon RSL grow up. Your coach is talking about a Beckerman RC against a different opponent; he's taking about a s SKC match against a different opponent; he's using color print outs from different games to complain about last nights game. Get real. There are no black helicopters... just good breaks and bad.

I mean, I guess I can't blame Petke bc he's new, but how freaking short-sighted of a memory does RSL and it's crying fan base have to have? Them, of all teams and fans crying poverty in the officiating between these two teams is comical and/or pathetic.

Part of me wants to resist providing example here, bc I just don't want to go there and come down to their level .

It's a good, if not fortuitous draw for SKC with 1/4 of its backing, against a team playing its best attacking ball of the year. Kudos guys.

Last year? The game in San Jose this year was a broadcasting disaster.

Yes,true. They lack a lot of quality in delivering a good product, but I was just talking about last night.
