I guess I wasn't too out there always thinking the Union should have started with normally priced concessions to build up fan base. The value of the team is all based on the size of the fan base and TV. Concessions and parking prices are always what casual sports fans complain about so take that out of the equation and most people would be happy going to a game. I guess Arthur Blank is giving that a go and Jay just needs helicopter gas money.
Got an email today because I guess I bought an extra single game ticket this year at some point... they are offering people that bought one this year, 3 free games to finish out 2017 if they sign up for 2018 Season Tickets. I scroll down to verify that these idiots surely wouldn't raise Season Ticket prices ... 2018 Pricing: what the ********. 2017 prices for comparison:
I just realized that the Union have lost 105 games (Nowack and Hackworth at 30 each and Curtin at 45) in their short history. Is that the fastest to 100 in MLS? More marbles!!!!!!!!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer_records_and_statistics I haven't done the math, but Chivas was 149 in 10 seasons.
Raising ticket prices with no demand for season tickets and zero out of pocket money spent on players? I guess those gift card parachute drops every week caught up with Sugar's bottom line.
Didn't they say ticket prices were going to increase in two increments over the same number of years? Or did that happen already?
891088130241167360 is not a valid tweet id Bold marketing move to make this during the Eagles season opener
And I thought CONCACAF scheduling the GC final on a weeknight was dumb. This is probably MLS' fault and not the Union's, but someone at the club needs to cross-check the schedules and raise an objection when something like this happens. "No home MLS games played simultaneously with NFL games in the same market" doesn't seem to be too tricky.
Late on this, but you seem to forget how bad TFC was in their first (almost) decade. In their first seven seasons they lost 105 out of 222 games (4 of those seasons were only 30 games). So compared to us they did it almost a full season quicker. Of course that doesn't change the fact that their FO at least spent money and tried and eventually got it right , whereas there is no real hope that ours will.
Given the positive spirit that helped this club come into existence, it's remarkable how quickly and thoroughly the people running the Union have made this the general attitude among knowledgeable supporters.
Just got an email - looks like the round of awful has pushed them to do a 2nd Town Hall meeting. Being a glutton for punishment I actually signed up. This will be my first Town Hall meeting and I'm wondering if chaps are appropriate to let the smoke enter my butt a bit easier?
Let's only hope that a win prior to this one won't bamboozle people into letting them off the hook. We should be Red Bulls post-Petke levels of angry at these people by now.
Soooo want to go to this but who am I kidding. Unless they announce a HUGH signing (player and coach) it will all be, as Celt so eloquently put it, blowing smoke up peoples arses. Expect more talk about future and growth of the academy. I'd like someone to ask what is the measure they are using to judge improvement? Wins doesn't seem to be the yardstick nor does attractive soccer or entertaining evenings. Why should anyone support this team - what value do they bring for my time and money? I'd submit the questions but I don't want to take up the spot of someone who can actually attend. I do have a pitchfork if anyone wants to borrow it.
