Definitely a "winnable" game, a struggling team with a mediocre record who played mid-week (and lost!) and has to fly cross-country, so the odds shoudl be in our favor.

Of course, we'll probably find a way to salvage a point with an uninspirig 0-0 draw.

Or possibly a sinkhole will swallow the pitch and players. That seems an appropriate outcome.

Plus the Galaxy is missing players. No Joao Pedro (YC suspension), Allessendrini came off injured midweek, Zardes is with the Nats, and Rogers, Lleget and Husidic have been injured all year. That's half their starting lineup.

Anything less than a solid win is a failure. A solid win is baseline in a situation like this. I think we likely will win, but the manner of our doing so will be telling. (And a loss moreso.)

Agree, The season is all but lost but those of us what followed with glee what happened back in 2002 know that even a very average team can get hot go on an imporobable run to the Cup match.

This game should tell us a lot. Jay has either lost this squad (I think he has) of he gets them fired up to recover some self respect and dignity and make a run. I frankly don't think we have the player or the depth to do much but as they say "Thats why the play the game"

If they don't show up tonight it will confirm all our worst fears and make it clear that Jay has lost the squad and needs to be replaced ASAP. I'm in the camp of bringing in someone NOW and someone from OUTSIDE the originization or who has had anything to do with the rranchise in the past.

IMO, this game will tell us a lot.

Well good to see that after a nice break, our defense still sucks. I dont know if we can score enough goals to win when our defense is as bad as they are

On another note... Jones seems a shadow of his former self. All except for the cheap shots at Lee

It kills me as a watch Lee handle the ball and pass. He is so much better than Nagbe and that bone head Arena will not give him a look.

Our iron wall defense just allowed a 3'd goal. Not even funny anymore

This one was painful to watch but a win is a win. LA is just as bad as the revs though they carried the play. The Bunbury sub changed the game so credit to Heaps for that. However, the cracks are obvious enough that he should still be fired the day after the revs officially miss the playoffs.

Four goals is good but I couldn't help notice the last 2 revs goals had in common: no Nguyen involved. He takes forever in the build up and essentially makes sure the defense gets back. Should not be starting anymore. And he sure as hell should be nowhere near the national team. In fact, the revs should trade him and get a quicker thinking player who knows how to read the game. Lee just isn't the same player he was a few years back, even if he's scoring goals.

Fagundez and Delamea are the only quality players on the roster, the rest are either inconsistent or simply mediocre.

    'orrible defense.

And 'orrible broadcast. Frequent drops and skips. Not what I'd expect from the local NBC flagship.

    ...

and Heaps needs to learn to use sunscreen. -ouch -

Yeah Doc but that was a very different era. Just 4 other teams in the East. The revs finished first in the east with a sub .500 record. Not to mention there was this guy named Twellman scoring goals for fun. Very different league, conference and team now. That said, yeah Heaps has lost it and I think he knows it. Body language and he's smart enough to know he won't be back.

It was Kraft sports that produced it, just aired on NBC.

Happy to see Bunbury score a brace still think he has potential to be our number 9 and be a player of USMNT caliber.

Also Lee Nyguen looked good and I was at the game live and Fegundez is incredibly quick

Also good to see Kamara score he could of had a hattrick

Can't say I don't agree with him when you see him crossing from out wide to Fegundez it's hard not to agree with him

Think we need to get guys in that fan cross and would get more opportunities here like Soony Saad or look to other leagues.

Still think Kei could be vital if he e signed an out and out winger

Not pretty soccer from either side but an entertaining match. Most memorable play for me was Diego leaving Jermaine looking for his shorts at midfield in the 1st half. Sweet.

At the end of the day you can say it was entertaining. I got free tickets in the Putnam Club which gave me a different perspective then my usual view in the Fort (just found out my mother's company has has Putnam Club seats the past 3 years that no one uses). I'm awful on the analytical part of soccer but I thought our midfielders Fagundez, Nguyen, and Rowe all were able to showcase their creativity and speed (specifically speed for Fagundez). Defense was abysmal though. I'm an eternal optimist so I see 3 bagged points last night and another winnable game this week vs a weak Union squad at home could see us crawl back into the playoff discussion.

Wow, this may need it's own thread.

Wednesday is a massive game. The problem is because they are in such a whole - every win for the Revs has to be tempered by what some of the other teams did: Atlanta, Columbus, and NY won, so although they shaved off 1 point, they are still 8 away.
