    Maybe you are right, but:
    1. We know little about Dahood, he hasn't have a single minutte with BVB. Where the füück is he?, why isn't he with the team in Asia?
    2. Weigl is out for a while, and I don't think he's any good playing the ball forward (many of you will disagree with this), Sahin is better on this point.
    3. Sahin dosn't look like he's able to play 90 minuttes, and is so and so defensively (slow)
    4. Castro starts usually good, but falls down to average after a while
    5. Where the füück is Merino. These games would be an ideal opportunity to prove he's a man to count on for the future
    6. It is not sure Bartra will make it as CB in starting 11
    7. And finally, Rode is hopeless

In the first half with ACM the team was moving better forward with Sahin than it ever did with Weigl

Dahoud is probably resting from his time with the German U-21s. He should rejoin the team soon.

I think most of the players who took part in the U21 and CC are still on vacation.

Max took part in training today. Mo has a problem with this feet so he trained individually. No clue about Merino. BVB hasnt published anything about him at all.

I figured. Likely going back to Spain. Hope it's a loan but it's probably a sale.

2:2 today. Don't know how to understand PB with changing to A-team first in the 75th min.
Maybe he wanted confirmed whom he doesn't want. I hope he understands now that we can't win games with guys like Rode and Durm. I think also Passlack is a weak point, so we need a RB. And Zagadou? Maybe too early for him...

Julian is back with the team and will continue training/rehab individually. Raphael is still missing.

    Marco started physio.

These are the only players missing from the full squad training.

Julian will be back to play in September. No official date set as PB will integrate him slowly and carefully.

That's a really quick recovery considering the injury he suffered.

We are having a test game against Espanyol right now. It slowed down towards the end of the first half but we had a good phase before that. The understanding between the players looked better. I thought Götze looked promising. Dahoud and Philipp will probably get their first minutes today.

This is the first game I have seen this season. The team looked rusty and there was still a lack of understanding between the players. Our left hand side was pretty useless. Zagadou is no left back and Schurrle was very poor. The team looked stable and I liked the way they were set up, but individual mistakes made the defense look poor.

Espanyol were determined and came to defend. We need more practise and sharper passing/movement.

Without Reus/Weigl/Raphael I don't think this team has enough to challenge the top teams, but we need to make sure that we beat the rest until then which hopefully they should be able to do.

We lost the test thanks to a gifted goal. With Götze we looked to have a bit more control up the pitch. With Mo, we have better control in the center. MG looks more spightly, covers more ground and looks more active defensively. But that desire to take on defenders has not returned completely.

This Gonzalo Castro guy overall is completely useless. He has, at most, two rather good movements during a match and the rest of it is full of back passes, receding the play down the pitch or losing the ball. Very little creativity.

I'd expect to see a different team altogether with Weigl and Gurreiro back.

Also if we can get a really good CB next year next to Zagadou and Bartra, I'd sell Sokratis. He's peaked and I can see why he was never elite.

I'm not sure why Schürrle keeps playing when we have Max.

I'm absolutely ready to sell Subotic, Park, Castro, Schürrle, Rode and Durm. Considering we have guys like Weidenfeller, Schmelzer in the squad. The quota of passengers is already full.

Also German media reports we might sign another player even though mgmt. said all purchases are done. I really hope it's a RB and we get rid of two of the aforementioned.

was very boring, esp second half
schurrle doesn't create. hoping to see pulisic or mor play more often than him. schurrle can sub in for auba if we need to rest him, or he's off the mark
castro creates some.. plus when weigl is back he'll probably be replacing sahin, and not castro
zagadou was calm, which is good for a youngster, but maybe he was too calm to the point of being not interested
overall, not judging by this game -- but i still think we should have gotten reinforcements at LB. And we should have gotten a RB!

We wouldn't need reinforcements at LB if Raphael was healthy. RB is a diifferent story.

Yes we are well stocked at LB. Schmelzer is a very good second choice with lots of experience.
It's still preseason so I guess he is getting to know the squad. I forgot to say Castro was good today. I am happy to keep Castro as a deputy for Dahoud and Schurrle as a deputy to Auba. The others can go, but if they are happy and finances are healthy it's not the worst problem.

There is quality in this squad. It's just centre back and right back I am worried about.

I can sign under most of that. Castro was not so bad tonight, actually, neither was Pisczek, even if I'm a supporter of letting him go.
The back 4, as it was tonight, didn't work, and Sahin was far from his best.
But what surprized me most was that almost no players were substituted. Why not giving Philipp a chance (for Schürrle)? , why not the young LB? and why not Reiman? I like the young, promissing keeper, to my opinion he's just as good as Bürki, maybe even better. A great talent

but that's exactly my point: we have to have a deep squad. granted, it would be bad to replace your captain, but schmelzer's level has dropped IMO compared to a few years ago. i guess he can be our backup for a month or 2... but i'm not too happy about that :)

yeah, that was curious.. is the coach already quasi settled on the first 11? well, even if he is, i think schurrle will quickly convince Bosz to replace him with pulisic or mor -- unless he improves drastically

Emre Mor prefers to be sold rather than loaned out according to German commentator. I hope this isn't the case. If tamed and his stubbornness controlled, he'd be an incredible player.

That said I am sure we can unearth players like him. But he deserves a chance to go elsehwere and see how things pan out.

Afraid we let talented players like Merino and Mor go, and get stucked with guys like Rode, Durm, Park & similar

Watched the game today and it's actually a bit worrying. I had not seen much of Ajax, except the CL final and have only seen the last two preseason friendlies. Lots of pressing, which just wasted energy and no creativity. It reminded me of Van Gaal at his worst. Hopefully this is just due to players getting used to the system, but in the last two games there has been no creativity and players have taken the easier options.
