Pulisic should be grateful to have been left in. he put 80 minutes of questionable tape out and then he gets the opportunity to show his class with some starters. I think he definitely showed some qualities today. I was more impressed with the turn upfield and dibble that led to the first goal than his goal. He showed some perseverance and toughness for the new manager. Kept plugging away and came up in a big moment twice which goes back to what I said up-thread:

He wasn't play CAM, Mor was pinched in more than him. He was 100% on the left. Mor dribbled into traffic every time and lost the ball. The second half they both looked a lot better and I would have called their play even up until pulisic's brilliant run for the first goal and his chester.

He was just onside. I see some people on r/soccer claiming he is off and making fun of american soccer but they are just bitter.

Pulisic didn't put a foot wrong today other than being mostly invisible the first half, came into the game in the second. IMO he stayed on because Bosz wanted to see how the first 11(minus Burki) looked together. All good signs for our boy.

No, what you said up-thread was absolutely ridiculous. Like question your soccer acumen in a few words ridiculous.

Yep...the 2nd 11, several of whom are only there due to injuries, were remarkably ineffective. Pulisic clearly plays much better with better players around him, as he's a consummate team player. I could see Dembele, and Mor to a lesser extent (and certainly not today), shining with the 2nd team.

That he disappears for stretches of games and then comes through in critical moments which was a response to another poster who said pulisic fades in games.

If you don't know the background or the context in which a comment was made then keep the personal remarks to yourself, idiot.

When the Pulisic's all touches cut of this match is made there will be 80 minutes with a single dribble, some poor touches, a couple of runs that went unrecognized by his teammates and some light defensive work. There will be a little defense but not much in the way of an offensive spark. After the mostly anonymous part he will be very good for 10 minutes and that goes back to an older conversation in this thread about Pulisic (not) fading in games.

I love watching Puli and Dembele. They will be a blast to watch this year. I think Mor is as good as gone, prolly on loan. Poor Schurrle...I think he'll get plenty of minutes this season but I don't really think his skillset helps him own any position in a 4-3-3... he's not ahead of the other front 4 (the 4th is a healthy Kagawa in the role Schurrle played today). I think the thing that limited Puli the most in the first half was Durm--either a lack of fitness or just being less comfortable on the left.

Until Reus gets back I think LW is Puli's to lose. Next challenger will be Philipp.

A few hot takes in here.

I sit back and consider the bigger picture, BVB travelled from Japan to China to Germany and played three games in about a week and Pulisic's been involved in the last 5 goals BVB has scored, with 3 assists, 1 goal and the run and pass from the wing leading to the other.

Likely cementing himself as a starter for the 1st half of the season.

He's really taking it next level this year....he's good on either wing or he's a prospect in the counter. Kid gets it done man, outside of mbappe I really don't see any other prospects his age that have that kind of effect on a game

How does the Milli Phillip signing effect Pulisic's playing time?

Good stuff. Mor is a bastard when he's not on the ball. When Pulisic went on his long midfield run you can see Mor lolly gagging on the opposite side of the field, not giving Pulisic a passing option when he got to the box

Like I said earlier, not much for 80 minutes and then 10 minutes of inspired play when everyone else seemed a bit resigned to the result. He produced when he needed to and that's more than fine.

He excels as a striker and a SS.

That isn't to say he's not a wing option but Dembele and Pulisic are hands down the top wing options for BVB right now until Reus returns.

I also see little chance Bosz drops a winger involved in the last 5 BVB goals who also has the trust of teammates for a guy who hasn't even played a min yet.

damn dude. It's like you and I aren't even watching the same YouTube clip even though it's literally posted right here.

I missed the match because David Villa is Kang. But CP looked just fine to me. Of course, I'm presuming the all touches vid isn't completely doctored propaganda. Well may be.

Hmmmm he had 13 touches in the first half including two shots and several more touches in the box. He had 28 over all which is a litter over every 3 minutes.

I mean in terms of making a real impact and besides, several of his early touches were poor. I commented on him looking a little off during the match.
