Selling Matic for £45M is a great move to United for us. He isn't going to make any huge difference for them and it prevents them from spending money on someone like Fabinho who would be far better for them. I'm all for selling Matic to United if we can get £40m+.

i think Nice is spot on. you could make the argument we need 4 players still, but just don't see it happening.

hoping for a wing back for sure and for Musonda to be the bestest thing ever so we don't need another attacker.

i think we sign two more, a wingback being one. i'm just not sure what the other is.

rumors that we will try to get Oxlade-Chamberlain. he's only got a year left on his contract by the way. i can't say i hate this. i'm not certain of it, but if conte could help him realize his potential, he'd be incredibly versatile in the system. also still young and homegrown. not saying i'm campaigning or think it's a homerun. but i'd be willing to give him a shot if it happened.

For cheap, sure. He would provide great bench strength.

Would love the Ox. Anything under ~£30M is a good deal for him, even with his 1 year left on his contract. Very good player, extremely versatile and can learn a lot under a manager like Conte.

Matic? That doesn't bother me. We sold them Mata.

He has also played wingback for Arsenal. If he can play both forward and wingback, could be a decent utility option, assuming he comes at a reasonable price. I'm not his biggest fan, but he's got talent. Hopefully he doesn't try to play keeper again though.

Would still definitely need a pure wingback though.

I rate Matic a little higher than most here. I think he fills a really good spot on United in terms of depth and strength. He's a hard, smart player who would actually be a better fit for Arsenal.

If we sell to United, he'll be well utilized during their trophy runs.

The funny narrative in every story is that "Jose yanked Lukaku away from Chelsea, who was the first choice target."

But it's clear that Morata was Jose's and Conte's first choice target. Conte has wanted him since last summer and Jose/Woodward failed to get a deal done this season and then turned to Lukaku.

The only person who wanted Lukaku at Chelsea was Emanelo, who I think brought him here the first time.

Not even sure why this first choice thing even matters. End of the day Morata is a far better fit for what conte is trying to build here and that's the best thing. I also don't care for the transfer fee difference, both clubs can easily afford both fees and more besides.

All these things are for me, are pointless pissing matches from fans who have a surface level understanding of the game only.

I know our links with Mendy were tenuous at best but we will have to look elsewhere as Citeh complete that deal earlier today. That is over a 150m on fullbacks in one window. Staggering....

I was not thinking of Danilo. I thought there was Walker and another fullback but I guess I am wrong. Sorry about that.

No worries man. They've been spending stupid money. I really hope we snag Danilo. He wants to play and he's got to like his chances at beating out the comp at Chelsea then City where they spent 50+ on each of his comp this summer.

With Mendy signing for City I think we have gained leverage on Real again.

Danilo should be the next player we aggressively target. If he goes off the Market and Juve do not sell Sandro, then I really do not see who we will get as a wing back.

Semedo is also an option. See if Mourinho really wants to keep Darmian.

Darmian would be perfect but I highly doubt Jose selling allowing Darmian to join us knowing that he would suit our team very well.

    Didn't Semedo sign for Barca?

    You're right Barca signed him.

We could take a look at Alessandro Florenzi as well
