Another first* to five meet up between these two clubs. Both teams are on a 4 game MLS losing streak. * Colorado has lost 5 games in a row this season, but that ruins my narrative, so like Curt thinking he’s got bigger opportunities after the Galaxy, I choose to ignore reality.
After last night, I really expected this to look worse, with the 0% having finally yodeled its way off the cliff. Instead, the top of the curve is flattening out just a bit, thanks to Portland and SJ losses. So our playoff chances are currently hovering in the mid 20%s. Never say die, motherƒ#¢&€rs.
Been thinking about Curt and Pete, and I guess Chris. Classic, classic mistake to neglect the defense and defensive shape of the team. That is the first thing you do to preserve your job, and to preserve your team's results in MLS. How they could have missed that is a mystery to me. It seems like sheer incompetence. I don't think I could be the coach of this team, but as GM I might have made a few better choices. WTF, Pete Vagenas!?! What is your explanation to us fans? What is the plan?
I fear Rowe is going to be really motivated to make an impact in this game. And, although we've played better on the road, our motivation seems really low right now. Still, Go Galaxy!
Wonder if Onalfo is going to pair Garcia or Jones with Cole for this one. I would think Jones, but I'm not sure if he's ready for that many minutes.
Could this be the debut game for Pele? He's been with the team for less than two weeks, but with the fixture congestion, we may need him.
I've said that I wanted to see Jones with Garcia. Now I get my opportunity. Hopefully Jones has his best game of the season.
Given that JJ has not yet even gone 45 min, I doubt that he match fit and has said he is not yet 100% healed. It would be good match for him to play as a conservative double #6.
Starting XI: Brian Rowe; Bradley Diallo, Daniel Steres, Jelle Van Damme ©, Ashley Cole; Rafael Garcia, Jermaine Jones; Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos, Emmanuel Boateng; Jack McBean Bench: Jon Kempin, Pele van Anholt, Dave Romney, Jaime Villarreal, Raul Mendiola, Bradford Jamieson IV, Ariel Lassiter. Looks like Pele might get some sub minutes.
Yikes. Jones is rusty. Bad turnover there. Oh Romain. He really hasn't been on target as much. Nice pass from Ema.
