We really should not have bent backwards for Cech. Arsenal's hate is pretty evident. Hope we tell them to stuff it in the future.
sanchez was sold 2 years after pep left barca and was already managing bayern. He was also one of barca's best players in his final season there. Sold to finance suarez.
not true. sanchez spent 3 seasons at barca, 1 under pep, 1 under tito/roura and 1 under tata. He played 2600, 2600 and 3400 mins in those seasons.
I feel Alexis is a one way player about to hit his decline. He'll turn 29 this December and he has a ton of games in those legs. That could speak to his durabitlity or his impending breakdown. I
Aké is official. I think it's incredibly dumb. He'll be just as good as the CB we sign in two years or less in my opinion. A great chance for youth promotion. All eyes on Christensen.
I suspect this wasn't entirely our decision. He may well have wanted assurances about playing time that we couldn't give him. If the split was amicable, if we do want to buy him back in the future, he'll be more likely to want to come back.
He did and I don't blame him... he's clearly better than Cahill in a back 3 and Christensen is returning and we're linked with adding another CB. Don't blame him at all but we better have a buy back clause in the deal or this will bite us in the ass.
Every game Ake played he showed better than Cahill. Ake is faster Ake is better when pulled into space Ake is better on the ball Reading the game Cahill has the advantage but not significantly and Ake is 22. Goal scoring Cahill has the advantage but Ake has bagged a couple himself. Cahill is 31 and won't be pulling a John Terry level of play into him mid 30's. Cahills spot is only safe cause he's our only English starter. I'd wager anything that if he was from somewhere else he'd have been benched far sooner. He's done good by us and I was one of the few that liked his signing from Everton when many though he wasn't of the level. But he's not at the level anymore and a bad fit in a 3 backline.
Wasn't he from Bolton? But yeah.. totally agree on everything. Gary has done quite the job for us. CL final, two titles, all those goals. Just don't see him as our starter.
I don't blame him. Even if Matic leaves we're bringing in a guy his same age on big money in the same position. I'd rather see Zouma go than Ake given the way we play. Oh well. Daily Mail catching on to how much we have ready to deploy-would have been a complete article showing the increase in commercial revenue and prize money for winning the league. Maybe Jake Cohen will get something going in advance of tomorrow that ties all those threads together.
Between selling Oscar and some of the kids, and especially if we sell Matic, our transfer kitty must be pretty substantial. As to Chalobah leaving, I'm not sold on that - we need more than two DMs for Conte's system.
Ake barely played for us, so much of this is an assumption. If Ake was genuinely that much better, I suspect Conte would have simply started him.
He played very well in his appearances for us and he also played very well at bournmoure before we recalled him. Bagged a few goals for them too.
Hmm... And Matt Law has solid sources too. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/06/30/chelsea-talks-sign-30m-antonio-rudiger-roma/
