He's got my vote. It has been a whirlwind year for him. I imagine the endorsements are gonna be swirling in.
Not to get O/T but I'm curious where the likes of Tyler Adams or Josh Sargent end up by summer's end.
I think Adams will stay at least until winter, but I'm really excited about EPB. Sargent's interesting because he might not be able to play in a game for a club until a full year from now.
Couldn't Bremen encourage a MLS club to buy to play for now and once he turns 18 he can be "loaned" to Bremen or something.
Well, they still wouldn't be able to sign him since he has a February birthday, and you can't register players outside the transfer window. The best solution is for Sargent to take the Haji Wright route, and sign a pro contract that expires before he's 18. That way he counts as a senior player rather than a youth player, and the rules on in-season registration would be more lax.
Now Dembele is apparently in Manchester meeting with Pep. Getting to the point you don't keep a guy who no longer wants to play for your club.
I doubt it. He's on the second year of a five year deal. I'd be on board with you if I thought it made the best business sense, but realistically Dembele is one of their best players and one more year of him should only raise his value and help the club compete for the title and/or Champions League success. Any other club I might be inclined to agree with you, but Dortmund is very used to this type of dance. It's part of the reason why I think CP is gonna be at Dortmund for at least another two years.
Fake News. Pep wasn't even in town on this day. The issue is, Zorc stated he isn't going anywhere - if this is the case, MC would be in serious violation of FIFA rules.
Fake? Was Dembele in Manchester? If I were a BVB fan I don't know if Pep being out of town would make me feel all that much better if Dembele is hanging out in Manchester, in fact it might make me feel worse.
If we get 70+ for him, he can take his as on....get Pulisic some more time and he will do just as well. Dembele is highly overrated at this point and I'd take that kind of scratch for him personally
That's really an interesting point- is he overrated??? At this stage in his career, odds still are that Dembele won't get much better - so taking the big cash now is playing the odds. However, at this stage in his career, CR looked no better than Dembele . . . You just never know.
He should easily fetch 70 if that move is real. City overpay for everything. While I wouldn't say Dembele is overrated, Dortmund have no shortage of attacking quality. It would certainly be good news from the Pulisic angle.
ive watched every game he has played. Hes really sloppy in transition and his basic passing is mediocre at best. Gives the ball away all the time and is kind of selfish with the ball, and defensively hes worthless.......you never know which is why you take the money now. We will buy a few more guys to fill the void and i thought Pulisic was on the same level as him last year personally.
Going back to a post I made a few pages back, but I think you're making the same (or similar) point: The Fomo premium is overpriced in the current market, and that goes as much for asset holders as it does buyers.
He may not fit your ideal image of a player but he produces and was one of the pillars of Dortmund's attack, especially in the second half of the season where he really separated himself from Pulisic. can admit his weaknesses in the areas you mentioned but still, goals and assists... I wonder how he does without Auba.
The article said he had dinner with Pep. He didn't, Pep was not in Manchester unless they did dinner via face time, which I doubt. This makes it fake news. Also, Manchester is a smart club and I doubt they would like to give FIFA their money for a heafty fine or be punished with a transfer period for chasing after a player a club said, "Is not for sale". Not for Dembele, at least.
I'm more interested in seeing how Auba does next year without Dembele. Dembele was the best player on the team for my money.
How many assists did he have to Auba? In my estimation, by the end of the year, Dembele surpassed everyone else.
