Would you say the team you fielded last year at the Euro was your A team? By the way, I have a hard time believing you are truly German born and raised. I feel like you're some nad whose grandpa or great grandpa was German but that's about it Jürgen Damm is maybe more German than you.
Hope Aquino starts on Thursday with lozano coming in as a sub. Pizarro definitely needs to be part of the main team. The guy was lethal with chivas and created a lot of chances.
Hope Pizarro being left for the Gold cup squad, while his ex-teammate Lozano is signing for PSV and with the big boys in Russia pressures him a little into making that push over to Europe.
I come in peace. Looking forward to this game. We have had the better results in past encounters, but I remember your team as always playing us very hard but very fair. I hope for the same on the 29th, regardless of result.
Bienvenido. Word of caution, though. Don't pay any attention, or heaven forbid, respond to @ninjew, @Special_talent23 or @Baysic. They're trolls. Hope it's a good game as well, may the best squad on Thursday advance to the final.
Fair question. I haven't read any established media calling this a C/D team (that tends to appear in opinion posts), and any that do are being dishonest. Löw and the trainer team are (rightly) concerned about player exhaustion in the senior stars, especially now that so many are playing in England and Spain. Also, the core senior squad are getting close to 30, which is not old but which suggests it's time to think about who comes next. So he selected a squad of likely contenders for the senior team in 2-4 years, based on current development. I think this was very smart, as it achieves 3 goals: a) give the senior team a proper regeneration before the season that will lead to the next WC, b) give the next generation some experience in a proper tournament, and c) show the senior team members that their spots are not guaranteed or safe for long. Because the age of the squad is so young, several of the players selected were pulled from the U21 roster, which greatly weakened the U21 in their tournament (I think the U21 getting to the final in spite of that is the bigger story tbh). I think the fact that those were U21 players until recently is why some people are claiming it's a C/D/Q/whatever squad... and I think that's insulting to our opponents. When Draxler is your senior player and captain it's obviously not an A team, and it's a team heavily weighted to youth (more than half the squad have fewer than 5 caps, or did before the tournament). So I think junior B is fair. But they are still very good players and it is still a quality team... the selection was all about the requirements of a larger strategy and had nothing to do with a lack of respect for the tournament.
