Im not surprised but disappointed Lee didnt make a 32 man roster. He didnt have that great a season and I dont think Heaps trying to play a single forward for most of the season helped anybody. I am happy for Juan though. I have been waiting to see what Arena would do for this camp. I guess he called about everybody that should have been called but Wondo, Ramindo, Zusi as a defender, Dax, Beasley and a couple of others make me wonder if this is going to work out? Will he really change anything or just replace Klinsmann on the bench?
Lee plays a deep position and didn't stand out in MLS this year so I'm not surprised he wasn't called. Shame because this would be possibly his last shot.
Coming at you LIVE from sunny LA, @JuanAgudelo of the @NERevolution will host a Q&A at 6 pm ET.Like our page now: https://t.co/Zhpf0sdbkW pic.twitter.com/PMeGJBIdOp— U.S. Soccer Men's National Team (@USMNT) January 14, 2017
Agudelo enters in 87th minute in 0-0 draw with Serbia. Has golden chance to score but one touch too many. Arena had quite a bit of praise for Agudelo during training camp, says he scored the most goals of anyone in camp. But Arena also praised everyone post match. Next game is against Jamaica on Friday. Sascha and Benny were both good, but also up/down - if Lee has any hope he has to count on 2 things: 1. Heaps uses Lee in the right way 2. Heaps uses the players around Lee correctly and in a positive formation Then Lee will have to take that chance and light it up - otherwise, I agree with others that his ship has sailed.
Is Agudelo really a NT player? Or to rephrase, should he be a NT player? He shows flashes every now and then but...skeptical.
Quite a polarizing debate in multiple threads in the Nats boards about Agudelo and his future/potential. The only consensus seems to be that he has got to light it up way more consistently to be in the discussion. That comes down to him doing that, staying healthy, and Heaps using him in a way that allows him to do that.
Agudelo could really benefit from a mentor. Having a guy like Mariner around would improve the odds of Juan developing as opposed to just hoping Juan commits and figures it out himself.
Exactly. Second year here, time to take more of a leadership role. Agudelo needs to more than harry the defenders and hold it up - he's got to put the biscuit in the basket every now and then too.

Rowe and Agudelo make the cut: http://www.espnfc.us/united-states/...get-first-united-states-call-ups-for-gold-cup Interesting to maybe see how these 2 play under a different coach. How many Revs games do they miss?
. Agudelo's inclusion marks his latest opportunity to live up to the early promise of his teenage years. His progress has been blunted by injuries, inconsistency and some questionable career choices, I would add to this his club coach not consistently playing him at forward, which is where Bruce seems to want to use him. And a little harsh on the career choice comment IMO. ( unless they mean coming back to play for Heaps ) Also as of note, Rowe is one of 4 to have 0 caps.
So two starters make the Gold Cup cut. Heaps life just got far worse. We will really be punished now for having few options beyond the starting 12-13 players. Be interesting to see what the Revs do while theyre gone. I strongly suspect they will be sent home and replaced with others for later stages in the tournament. This has to be Juan's last shot
Well, at least they can borrow some players on loan from their USL affiliate, right? Oh, wait, that's right, they are the only team in MLS that does NOT have an affiliate, just like they are the only team in MLS with 6 empty roster spots. How does Burns still have a job????
I assume they mean when he sat out nearly an entire season after his failed EPL move, attempting to get a Cyprian passport.
However, Brad's crutch-ability score just went to 10. Let me be the first to predict something like: "Kouassi hurt, Delemea hurt, Koffie, Rowe and Agudelo gone for international duty, the Revs have a tough mountain to climb."
I mean, it's true. It is tough playing with 2 of your best 3 players injured (Kouassi, Delamea and Fagundez the best 3 IMO) and 2 of the next best 4 unavailable (Rowe, Agudelo, Koffie and Nguyen the next tier IMO). The issue is that we lose games when fully healthy with all players available, thus have no cushion in the standings.
