Yeah, he wants to clean house from the inside which is easier said than done, but the least he has an agenda.
How many of the FA presidents among countries in top 50 FIFA rankings do you think have other jobs outside of football..?— Steve Han • 한만성 (@realstevescores) June 16, 2017
Iceland is ranked 22nd. Their FA President, Guðni Bergsson, is an attorney, though I am not sure he is still practicing while working as FA President. http://www.uefa.org/member-associations/association=isl/ The Wikipedia page on him says:
So, it's been about a week and I've got to say, it's time that we developed some roles and responsibilities. - If the function of the technical committee is for each member to equally vote on coaching selections, then what is the purpose of a "Director"? - If the Director has more voting power than rest of the committee, then what is the purpose of the committee? - Moreover, why do we need a "technical" committee to discuss other topics as training schedules and other logistics? Can't we simply hire a group of interns to come up with a schedule and coordinate with the K-League (and why do we even have a separate entity to manage the K-League?). - Moving up the ladder, what does a "Vice President" do? Is a VP truly in the position to approve and release (Hyundai's) capital funding for various programs (if so, then what program is the KFA really responsible for?). I know I've got so many questions but at the crux of it, the KFA is simply a namesake entity (and I argue that most FA's around the world fit into this category) who really do absolutely nothing. It's just a cash cow and some allowance money for Jung Mong-gyu.

And how did that turn out? The only tactic they had was to play long ball to Cho Jae-Jin. When Advocaat was hired, Korea had already qualified, so the incentive for a foreign manager to come was much higher. It is quite a different situation now.
And, I've already explained about having the luxury of already qualifying for Germany under Bonfrere before Advocaat took the KNT helm, but whether incentive or not, it still doesn't give the excuse of not being able to search for candidates on both ends of the stick (Domestic and Foreign). The only difference between the Bonfrere era and the Stielike era is that Bonfrere had far more reasons to stay and lead the team in Germany whereas Stielike should've been gone from the get-go last year. And, albeit playing like cowards at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, our performances and results under Advocaat leading up to the final tournament were reasonable, especially if you take into account of the short time he's had to build a squad for the WC; defeating a full Iran team for the first match in charge was also by in no means and easy feat. Also, long balls? Pim was far better at that than Advocaat.
Advocaat wasn't bad. We did exactly how I expected us to do in that WC. 4 points and had a chance to advance but loss to Switzerland in the last match and the Swiss imo were just the better team to begin with. That World Cup's squad was considerably weaker than our 2002 WC on paper
To be able to record a first WC win on foreign soil with that type of performance and within that short amount of time of preparations is something that you cannot take away from Advocaat, especially given the fact that the exclusion of captain Yoo Sang-chul and prime Lee Dong-gook due to their injury took a huge hit on the squad.
Kim Ho-Gon was named the new Technical Director... meaning it's pretty much gonna be Huh Jung-Moo again.
Does it even surprise me? Now it's 100% Huh Jung Moo. We're fcked. They needed such a long time to name someone from inside KFA as the new TD. All thise names like Hakbumson were only to distract the fans. I even remember Kim Ho Gon saying it'd be difficult to do both TD and vice president. Chung just raised his salary I guess..
Now that Huh Jung-moo appears 100% likely to be the new manager, there's no point in waiting till next month to appoint and announce a new manager. Might as well have announced both Kim Ho-gon and Huh Jung-moo today.
You know the usual procedure. First they will name a few interesting candidates (including foreign managers) through the media and even dare to say they contacted them, before they will announce HJM as the new manager a month later from now or something (he'll obviously get a huge salary raise). Also, the new technical commitee is probably going to consist of Hwang Bo Kwan, Lee Hoe Taek, Ahn Ik soo and Hong Myung Bo.
Look at this scripted bs, 허접무 said the same thing .
"현 상황에서 외국인 지도자를 찾긴 어렵다. 국내 지도자로 가는게 맞다고 본다." Lee Yong-soo VP to Technical Director and back to VP, Kim Ho-gon VP to Technical Director, and on top of that, Lee Yong-soo's agenda gets shoved down Kim Ho-gon's throat. 10/10 for the 돌려막기 방식.
http://sports.news.naver.com/kfootball/news/read.nhn?oid=076&aid=0003112478 His interview is even laughable, nothing but scripted bs that sounds like it came straight from a politician's mouth. Says Lee Yong-soo did a good job.....
