For sure. He was all over the place. He is also very tough for his small stature.

Fonte has not played well since he transferred out of Southampton , but Neto coming in dry to replace Pepe is a tough call for the do or die semis. That's why FS gets paid the big bucks, to come up with the right choices.:sneaky:

why was NZ trying to injure our players?

F*k these guys glad we pumped them 4-0. They can go back home and get their england flags out for the WC.

    loved Nani's trolling

so next game no Pepe? and maybe no Rapheal and Bernardo? should be fun lol

I'm pissed at the refs for not handing out more cards and penalties to the NZ team. I guess Fifa wants to encourage that type of behavior.

I hope Portugal meets Chili in semi. Even if the Germans didn't bring their full A squad, they are still are very hard to beat, they are very thorough, very physical team. Chile on the other hand, has 2 elite guys and mostly average players.

    - There was a hit job for sure. That's why CR7 was taken off. Santos noticed it. Germany probably paid them off.

    - When Pepe got that yellow, i threw my remote. Not going to lie. He shouldn't have been playing in my opinion.

    - Bernardo is the most tactically aware player that we have had in ages. Huge blow for us offensively if he misses out.

    - Our players seem to have way more offensive freedom when CR7 is not playing. All channels are open and there is more comfort, we rarely see that when CR7 plays. We're past the time where we were dependent on him.

Wales had slow centre forwards who used their physicality.

Chile has rapid forwards and stretch the field, and Germany with the young players they brought are no slouches either.

Pumped up that Bernardo has established himself now it looks like as an undisputed started for the national team. What a massive difference this is going to make for the present and future, haven't had a player like him since Costa and Deco. It's a shame Mario got injured before the tourney. This is the beginning of the golden generation 2.0 phase in Portugal, the full transition into the team we all have been waiting for.

At the world cup I am so excited for this potential midfield and attack

    Carvalho
    Silva. Mario. Gomes

    Silva. Ronaldo

I think with the playmaking ability of Bernardo and Mario, it's important to have somebody worth the size of Gomes in the midfield. That would really only leave us with one player under 5 foot 10 which is Bernardo silva. I know people rag on gomes but he has skill and he has great size and would be useful versus stronger teams. Against weaker teams have Gelson in his place or possible quaresma. But I think that lineup with Gomes in it gives us one hell of a great chance of becoming a possession team dominating opponents like Germany and Spain have done over the years.

Gomes needs to improve alot if we're going to go far in the world cup with him as a starter.

Right now that lineup is 100% except with Adrien in place of Gomes.

Adrien has more energy, covers more ground, and is the workhorse that William and Joao Mario need beside them

Adrien is a tireless workhorse. If he could put Modric in his pocket he can put anyone away for 90+ mins.

The angry white men master team Germany sent a care package to their bretheren down under

They are targeting Portugal Mexico and chile , but especially us .

Santos needs to speak out against this jogo da mala

I watched the Chile vs Germany game and Chile looked the marginally better side.

Germany's A- team (Everyone is calling it a B team but it's really A-) is pretty much a Holland. Both very tough teams but i'd like to avoid Chile just based on what i saw.

European bias. Chile is a very good team. Portugal is probably better but there's a reason they've won a couple Copa's and made a run to the world cup semis over the last 3 years.

Rate Chile highly and glad they are doing well. Pity Venezuela lost to England in the U20 final 1-0 (they missed a penalty too).

    Hi all,

Anyone notice how bad Ronaldo's first touch has been this tournament?

    What's going on there? Fatigue?

Re: NZ playing rough, that's how they are, they're all a little bit crazy! Nice people though

Yes, and with his head he has missed some very good chances too (if you can call them first touches).

He has not been as clinical as he should be. Do not think it is fatigue.

    NZ, better than the Aussies.
