So it's reported that he rejected an offer to return to Atletico Madrid. What could be the possible reason? And NOT money please...

He had 2.5 real shit years. He is finally back to top form and is captain of the French champions that went to the semis of champions league. Why would he leave? Is the better question especially the year before the WC. Granted if Monaco gets dissembled then yea he should leave.

Yeah I think he should stay, if he does decide to leave for some reason Atleti would be my first choice, much less risk playing on a team and with a coach that knows and appreciates him. But I like him staying with the project in Monaco, they are exciting and he is their leader, him continuing and learning from that experience will only help the NT and Falcao as he approaches his golden years.

This may not be a factor but I believe he feels way more appreciated by the management and the fans at Monaco.

At Atletico I remember fans and media always saying Falcao is replaceable and was not that important to keep. They were spoiled.

Monaco knows a precious jewel when they see one.

At his age it's his last pay day but he is already getting 7 million a year and made 45 million the 3 years he was injured not to mention any endorsement money. Dude wants to play and sticking where he is will achieve that

Atletico was going thru some rough financial times. They were really just about to start their golden age when Falcao came on board. But they couldnt say no to some of the big money that was being thrown their way. They made a huge investment that paid off with Falcao. Atleti Fans loved Falcao but they all knew they were a club that just couldnt retain a player at his caliber the way he was playing. They did the same with Costa the following year and eventually Griezmann will not be staying either.

he gets to keep a big part of that money he's made being in Monaco. I hate to say this but I do think China will come calling again and both club and player will have a hard time saying no.

Have a good WC his value will rise big time. Too risky to let a random kid pop up and take his spot

All I can go by is what I heard on MArca radio and the Atleti fans and media were making it seem like they could find someone better. They had lost so many good players over the years and found very good players to replace them with. (Forlan, Torres, Aguero, etc) But they still have not found someone to replace Falcao in my opinion. Griezmann is good but has a different skillset.

Well Costa was Falcao's actual replacement. And he did great that season. It's Costa they haven't replaced.

I remember Costa and Falcao played together at times.
He did slide into Falcao's role once he left but let's not forget they were both on the field at the same time in matches.

Congrats on becoming our top scorer! Really great that he did it against Spain, and with a header at that! (I believe his first one with the NT)

if you though that a cb with 34 caps in his last season in germany was done, especially in a team that reached quarter finals of ucl that year. you have a big rule

Very good news indeed. And he looks better in the second half than in the first half which is encouraging. Getting stronger as the game goes by.
