Not surprising, and probably good to have him go to get the drama away from the Lane...er, Wembley.

If I know Daniel, this will drag on until he squeezes every last penny from City. He knows they’ve got gobs of it and Walks is on a long-term contract. He’ll be in no hurry.

Ricardo Pereira being linked should Walker leave for City. Would much rather have a rotation of Pereira and Trippier than Trippier and Walker-Peters.

I don't like selling to EPL rivals, but nobody needs an unhappy player stinking up the atmosphere. The transfer fee they are talking about seems insane.

It's Man City, who have long been courting him, so why not up the price (when selling is not needed to generate income). After all, Monaco have reportedly turned to 2 offers of over 100mil for Mbppe (as if that was not enough).

If player demand the move then we can't go above what City is likely willing to pay. Big part of Pochettino's Spurs is that everyone must want to play for him and be there. He'll get rid of anyone that isn't doing their job and following his way. Think we just have to trust Poch whether it's right to let player go or not, and Levy to get the best deal possible. They are both the best there is in their field.

ITK from The Goat on SpursCommunity:

The Goat hears (not for the first time) that there is unrest at Levy's tactics when it comes to contracts and signings, frustration from players, agents and others involved in transfers/contracts in and out. Sessegnon and his connections are losing patience as is Edwards and two or three first team players are interesting the Manchester clubs along with one other top (european) club. However it’d take an excessive bid for us to sell. These players do not include Kane or Alli. The Goat assumes these are Dier and Walker.

The Goat also hears that our wages policy is starting to bite and one or two aren’t convinced at our ambition…… it would be no great surprise to see a number of players leave over the next year or two and although Rose fancies a move is prepared to give it another year but Toby wants a get out clause in any new deal. As was the case last year, Pochettino wants new players in before the 2nd week of pre-season.

as always, ITK is best taken with a grain of salt. but it doesn't exactly stretch credulity, does it?

for all that, though, ITK remains very quiet regarding even targets, let alone details. and that, to my mind, remains a good sign that under Pochettino "it's different now".

The problem with this particular ITK is how many new contracts were signed this year. Maybe my memory fails me, but I believe nearly all the first team penned new deals. If terms were really that poor, I believe we would have seen fewer deals signed than we did.

This sounds the most plausible. Everything else...who knows.

The Goat's comments don't make sense with all the new contracts, all the love that is being touted by the squad. There is a reality in that we know players will move, but this sounds like a comment from a previous time. Levy really seems to be looking very positive at the new stadium and all the (potential) income.

    With that said, today's rumors:
    Dier for £50mil
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...r-united-told-eric-dier-will-cost-50-million/
    Wimmer for £20 mil

i think all of these rumors are just loads of shit, nothing less...it was like walker's deal is long gone, now there are new reports that are reportedly saying that kyle doesn;' want to leave spurs...
leave you to put your own quotation marks wherever you want ...
i personally stopped reading the thousands "very credible and itk" sites that just generate traffic and post bunch of crap!
    sick of 'em!

Alves to Man City is an interesting wrinkle is the Walker saga. Gives City some leverage to knock down Spurs' asking prixe, but can't see Walks wanting to leave to see pay backup.

I know, I find this time of year amusing - it usually is with Spurs. From being linked to Messi and more, to the current rumors of players wanting out, it is amusing. Regarding Dier, somebody said somewhere within the the last 2 or 3 months that Poch has gotten young (England) players their first Caps - Kane, Alli, Die, and Winks looks to be next. Why would those players want to leave this soon? So it is amusement to me.

The Eric Dyer rumor keeps going, and this is a replacement potential. Age might be an issue, though.

    Max Meyer:

More like it, a good, young player, a need for the CL, and he does have some European experience, be it in the Euro.

    Kyle Walker...I mean Kieran Trippier:
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tottenham-set-hand-new-five-10671429
New contract. Another sign that Walker is set to leave.

I don't know what to make of the Walker situation. I think he is going only if he wants out. But honestly, who knows what he (or anyone else) wants?

On a completely different subject, is anyone starting to be concerned that maybe we have seen the last of Lamela? These injuries that take forever to heal don't always have a happy ending...

It is possible he has a Bo Jackson-type injury?

Starting? I've not presumed we'd ever see Lamela again for months now.

    Today's rumors....

    Vincent Janssen:
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...onchengladbach-offer-vincent-janssen-10682055
Not so sure, other than scoring goals (which has not been an issue for Spurs), Janssen works well.

    Gylfi Sigurdsson:
    http://www.espnfc.com/story/3148236...bid-for-gylfi-sigurdsson-from-everton-sources
Rejecting Everton for a team playing in Europe...that team being Spurs. Would be nice to see him back, but can't see him at that price. Not a Levy purchase.

    For humor:
    HARRY KANE!!!!
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/mourinho-wants-kane-not-ronaldo-10681073
    Yeah....no. Not gonna happen.

And the coda: Paulinho keeps getting linked to Barca. A part of me would like that.

I think that had as much to do with the net cost as anything.

    In other news, Vincent Janssen
    http://talksport.com/football/totte...s12m-move-vincent-janssen#etiJjShbr5DJRCwi.99

Levy won't take that, and Poch seems to still like Janssen. And so does the rest of the team by the reaction they had when he finally scored from open play in the last match.
