I think everyone would love to know where Benfica's money is going. For a team that has reportedly made over 700 mil in sales in last 10 years, they shouldn't be the 2nd highest club in debt. So it clearly isn't going to pay off debt. Benfica needs to be transparent with their finances. In light of all the recent news regarding corruption, drug trafficking, etc... , it's hard not to believe a lot of funny business is going on. Sporting is no where near benfica's financial trouble. Benfica #2 in Europe behind Man u. http://www.totalsportek.com/football/clubs-with-the-most-debt/
I keep thinking Sporting was just as bad because they were bankrupt before, so that's at the forefront of my mind. I agree with your post. It doesn't add up. Impossible to defend Benfica regarding this. Screw it.
I don't think we'd be so far in debt if we were dealing drugs unless we were the worst drug dealer in the world
Chris Willock, 19 year old inverted left winger with good skill and can use both feet, said to be coming on a free from Arsenal.
Sigh. Not enough. Zero prem experience. We're getting roasted on the acquisitions compared to Sporting. Still a long way to go but this has been very underwhelming to say the least. I hope i'm wrong because if this kid turns out on a free, that's big.
Apparently most Arsenal fans are pissed that they are giving up on him. Saw a poll on a Sun article. Good sign.
they were almost bankrupt. another year of Godinho and they would've. Usually where there's smoke, there's fire. Time will tell over the next little while, but there's definitely a lot of garbage going on in Portuguese soccer.
I have said it numerous times over the years, I DONT TRUST LFV !!!! Something stinks. One of three things should be happening with the kind of revenue, we are able to pay down the debt, we are able to retain some of our players longer because we can afford to pay them better, or we invest. Im not sure that any of these are happening. I love Benfica, I hate how there is zero transparency
When there's no transparency, there's usually a reason for it. Vamos ver. Somethings gotta give soon.
That is why i get pissed when we sell our players now. Before i would be happy for the club but now that things are getting exposed, questions are arising.

with 45 mil, what does Benfica profit? 7-8 mil? Didn't Benfica pay something close to 12-15 mil for 50% of his rights?
