I don't think he's our most promising on loan attacking talent - that would be Tammy. I agree, a buy back clause would be good, but if we're keeping Michy and getting a new striker, it's not clear where Traore would have fit.
He can play wide as well. But the sale is ok as long as we have buy back or right of refusal or sell on. But as the market keeps getting more and more inflated we need to keep prized assets to sell at peak value.
Well I should have said, the player that would make a bigger impact the coming season. He has sort of proven already that he's able to contribute in the 2015/2016 season. I agree that it's unclear where he'll be in the pecking order the coming season with Diego/Michy either staying or going on loan. Just thought it's a bit silly to "let" him leave if there wasn't something in the works since he could play multiple positions up front.
Maybe the board will fool us all and between July 1-4 they'll announce Lukaku, Insigne, Bakayoko, Cabellero, Koulibaly, and the re-signing of Costa, Courtois, and Conte.
Juve rejected a 55.2m offer for Sandro from us. Also reading supposedly Dani Alves is coming on the free. Personally that would be some great business.
I would pay the 60M Euros for Sandro at this time. Not many top quality LBs and he is one of, if not the best in the world IMO. For our needs he would be perfect and has plenty of good years ahead of him. Personally, I would hope the club would only allow Traore to be sold for the 20M Euro figure if we included a buyback option. I always thought he had tons of potential and if we are going to be selling one of our young talents then we should require a buyback clause.
French FA doesn't allow buy back clauses in contracts, but there's a way around it if we could reach an agreement outside of the contract
That's probably illegal . I'm guessing there are some kind of rights we could get, like first refusal.
Surprise we'd sell him without Conte getting a real look at him. Then again, its very possible he wanted out.
Agree about Sandro fee. At 26, he's one of the best in the business. If they ask for 60, give them 60. Immediately become a more dangerous team. Though likely just a ploy to increase wages.
Is it just me or has there been a ton of instances where: 1. We bid X on a player. 2. Other club says "No X. We want Y." 3. We say "OK, here is Y." 4. "Other club says "No Y. We want Y + Z." Repeat. Of course, we don't the half of what goes on in these negotiations.
Please no. MLS bench player level. https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation...-race-for-versatile-arsenal-midfielder-report
If we can't sign Sandro then I would buy Mendy. I would prefer Sandro for various reasons but primarily because he is ready now to preform at the top level for the next 5+years. Sandro for 60M Euros is a lot of money but he is worth it for our needs. IF not, move for Mendy, around 45M Euros but he is very good and has tons of room to grow. Verratti seems available but Barca seem to be very interested. If they snooze around we should push hard for him. I would take Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain any day of the week. I have always liked him and he has been around for a long time but lets not forget he is only 23! He has tons of upside and would be a big upgrade over Victor Moses on the right IMO.
hard RT These Italian clubs seem to be ********ing with us most of the time. Hell, look at what Juve had to pay to get Higuain from Napoli.. its all ridiculous.
The French Ligue 1 seems to be the best place to get the best value for your talent. They always seem to have such good young talent either from France or abroad and the fees aren't as inflated as the other leagues.
