I remember looking at the schedule back in Sept and wondering about the importance of this birm matchup. Huge. But, unlike last week, I don't have a lot of worries here. I think we'll beat Brimingham. I think we've got some confidence going in, they're panicky now, and this isn't the sort of team we've stumbled against. OTOH, how weird is it that there will be thousands of Reading fans rooting for Warnock this weekend? My gut is telling this is will be a Reading win, but also a Blades win. Still, being on a roll heading into the playoffs isn't a bad thing.
I have been very quiet this season but lately the team has pulled me back. The form as of late has been pretty strong and I hope we can roll this into Sunday and playoffs should Sheffield win. How great would automatic promotion be? A month ago I was dreading another year of the Championship but now the Prem seems a feasible reality. No matter the outcome this Sunday we have an opportunity to seal our own fate. Let's just get the win on Sunday and let the chips fall where they may. Does anyone know a good website to watch the game?
unfortunately you can't watch the espn stream if you have comcast. i guess i'll try justin.tv or some other...
They look god-awful. Birmingham scores a pathetically easy goal and have the majority of the possession. The only thing Reading have contributed to this game so far is terrible goalkeeping and the concession of approximately 192 goal kicks.
They are aware that they need to *win* this game, right? And now that they have to score TWO goals? Because they are currently "attacking" with at most one or two bodies.
Utter rubbish. One or two inviting crosses with no one apparently interesting in them. About a million "through" balls that beat the forwards by about 20 yards. If this is the best we can do, we don't deserve to get promoted.
What a miserable day. Everything was in place for us to go up. United drew with Palace and we just needed to take care of Brum. Well, there is the playoffs, but I'm not confident in this squad to make it through.
Very nice of you to say that. if you know our history in playoffs, you know you won't need luck on your side. Aside from the bank-balance dip, i've come to terms with being fine with life in the second. Historically, that's quite impressive for us. something unclicked with this squad this spring, or we'd be up already. but that something that unclicked unclicked last spring, as well. It may just be who we are. And I have to say, as much as I loved two years in the prem, the heartbreak of the drop took a massive toll. If we make it up, we make it up. If not, Come on URzzz
Ugh, I can't stand Championship since I can only watch 1-3 games a season. Reading need PREMIERSHIP!!! I watched nearly all their games when they were at the top. My only real fear is that Steve Coppell will leave after this season if we don't make it up and we end up as a mid/lower-table team in the Championship. Especially since many of our star-players will leave this summer if promotion is not acquired. C mon Coppell!! If we get promotion, i promise I won't ask you for anything else again!
Well, except to keep them up next year. The TV thing is a major plus to the Prem. But would note that if we lose some stars, we've really got a nice young foundation ready to step in. No matter what happens, Copps has left us a better club.
OTOH (and someone please stop this roller coaster, i want to get off) we're going up. The mojo is going to return, and we're going to score early and often, in all three games...
Agreed. Lets start planning for the promotion party now. It will be an easy win whoever we play against at Wembley.
Are you crazy! You can't say even jokingly say things like that. Do you really want to tempt the wrath of guys on top of the whatever. Now go outside, spin around three times and spit.
bump... https://www.socceramerica.com/article/73410/us-abroad-williams-reading-headed-to-wembley.html The Royals beat Tim Ream's Fulham, 1-0, on Frenchman Yann Kermorgant's penalty kick to win 2-1 on aggregate.
