Hansen so far been the star of the game, but poor substitution pattern by Freiburg; Petermann & Puntigam should of started

this time JoJo was missing due to too many yellow cards, but TP has a history of slipping down during the second part of the season; believe they were league leaders going into the winter break in 2013-14 & 2014-15 seasons as well only to fall down as far as 4 spots after that

here are highlights of Frankfurt/Wolfburg what was an actually entertaining game. But got to ask, where the bleep was Frankfurt's defense/?(as it was very shot full of holes) And got to ask; what ever happened to German players in their own Bundesliga? The Wolfies only start 4 domestic players these days & all the goals were scored by their internationals. It's a wonder why German's are loosing interest these days in woso(as attendance is reported way down). Leading the way was Dickermann, but Hansen, Harder & Pajor had various goal & assists as well. The Polish girl, Ewa Pajor, really should be a starter on most squads, she looks lightning quick for the short amount of time she's in there, Kinda like the woso, Robert Lewandowski/could be selling a lot of tickets for a new club or be any league's leading scorer if she only could start & not sit on the bench most of the time like she does at Wolfburg. Never mind my ranting, just see for yourself

I saw this game live on stream. Very entertaining. Ewa Pajor is an excellent counter-attack player, in many ways an ideal substitute if you want to change a game or take advantage when the opponents are committing more players forward. Kellermann succeeded with that early tactical substitution taking Van Egmond off in favour of Pajor. That offense Pajor-Popp-Hansen-Harder-Dickenmann was too much for Frankfurt to handle. I agree, Pajor would start for most teams, and keep in mind Wolfsburg have Wullaert also on the bench with limited play time...

If Harder's goal is not given o.g. by Bartusiak, then Caro Hansen had three assists in this game. She also set up both Dickenmann's goals.

Die Wölfinnen are now three points clear at the top of the table because Turbine Potsdam surprisingly lost at home to Freiburg. Bayern Munich thereby closed in on that CL-spot also with their win at Duisburg. Still everything to play for.

As regarding German players, I did a background check on the Bundesliga squads.

Club - Players in the squad - foreigners
    Bayer Leverkusen 25 - 5
    Bayern Munich 28 - 15
    Bor. Mönchengladbach 27 - 5
    Duisburg 26 - 9
    FFC Frankfurt 27 - 6
    Freiburg 28 - 5
    Hoffenheim 22 - 4
    SC Sand 25 - 13
    SGS Essen 23 - 1
    Turbine Potsdam 26 - 9
    USV Jena 26 - 9
    VfL Wolfsburg 28 - 14

    Total: 311 players
    German: 216 players (69.5%)
    Foreign: 95 players (30.5%)

I did a similar check recently on the league I'm most familiar with; Norway's Toppserien (83% Norwegian players / 17% foreign). I'm also noticing the German clubs have larger squads - 26 players on average per club compared to 20-21 in Norway.

Bayern Munich and Sand have more than 50% foreigners, Wolfsburg exactly 50%. At the other end of the scale, Essen only have one foreign player and Hoffenheim four.

What I would like to know is the budget these clubs in the mid- and lower section of the table have. Are all clubs in the Frauen-Bundesliga full-time professional? Take Sand for example. My guess is that the squad is a mix of semi-pros, students and full-time pros, and that the foreigners in pretty much every case is a pro. I recognize Leticia Santos there. She was a pro at Avaldsnes last year, I'm guessing she is still a pro at Sand. So in order to get a solid pro contract in Germany as a German (enough to pay your bills and live a normal independent life), can you do that being a rotation player at Hoffenheim?

I hear the Swedish league has a ton of foreigners as well. The German clubs must be paying at least room & board plus spending money to the 2nd tier foreign players. That;s got to be worth at least around $10K an year. Otherwise the Bundesliga doesn't pay that high salaries to it's German woso players either. Here's a pay chart from a couple of years ago
    1,w=559,c=0.bild.jpg

it's hard to believe though that Frankfurt was the CL champion just two years ago, yet fallen so bad that they looked liked a bunch of amateurs yesterday. I got to believe that the Bundesliga/woso is heading towards an downhill/stagnation if their not going to put some serious money as lately France & England have had

Player's who took the field during Frankfurt's last WUCL triumph...

    Schumann: Prießen - Kuznik - Hendrich - B.Schmidt/Huth - Crnogorcevic/Islacker - Laudehr/Ando - Marozsán - Sasic - Boquete - Garefrekes

Finished season in 3rd place. Top domestic scorers with 74 goals. Sasic (20) - Garefrekes (15) - Marozsán (8)

Names taking part during Frankfurt's recent 5-1 loss to WOB....
    Schumann: Hechler/Matheis - Prießen - Bartusiak - Störzel - Hendrich - S.Schmidt - Pawollek/Munk - Groenen - Nagasato - Crnogorcevic/Matuschewski

    Currently 5th place. 31 goals scored. Islacker (17) - Crnogorcevic (3)

I really don't want to waste needless time in here, but if this simple comparison isn't enough to highlight the obvious issues of constant transition within this league as a whole, I'd say Frankfurt are exactly where they should be (or even higher) given the present situation where a 1st place WOB still find themselves 33 goals away from reaching the 2014/15 seasons best of 74 goals.

Could a lot of this be easily rectified with certain clubs using a lavish short term spending policy... possibly? But when a nouveau riche Wolfsburg can no longer hold the aspirations of a Faißt or Magull, you know it's going to be a very long time before Germany see's another club ascend to the top, on the corpse of talent rich low-paying rivals.

if winning the CL was the most prestigious thing since the invention of cream cheese, then why did Frankfurt allow it's clubs to stagnate so much? They should of had enough money to spend, especially after the retirement of Sasic & Garefreekers, plus Maro, Vero & Laudehr moving on to other teams.

Regarding, Magull & Faisst. Magull is way better off in Freiburg where she's obvious the star, and/or has an license to play or her style, according the best to her abilities. Faisst, not so lucky, over at Munich, they've just signed Holland's Jill Roord(as the foreign invasion continues) which will make playing time in that crowded midfield even harder to find, once Leupolz & Laudehr are back!

not much highlights from this last weekend's games. but here's is the continues misfortunes of Frankfurt as they only manage a tie with Bayer Leverkusen, a team that's will probably be relugated after this season and several of it's players have signed up with other clubs all ready
    http://us.women.soccerway.com/match...sen/1-frauen-fussball-club-frankfurt/2286881/

Frankfurt should still have a bunch in them considering they got the likes of GER NT's Hendrich, Islacker & former NT Bartusiak. Plus JA's premier striker, Nakasato,as well as DEN's Monk, , CA's Schmidt & NED's Groenen. The tie puts in them in 5th place in league standings.

BL scores first with a counter attack(a rarity as of late in the Bundesliga!). Frankfurt comes back with two howlers. but BL ties with a late pk,

Talking about Frankfurt, today's news: AC Nagano Parceiro Ladies announced that Nadeshiko Japan's FW Kumi Yokoyama has been signed by 1.FFC Frankfurt (effective from July on, so it will be for next season).

This upcoming matchday will be vital. Turbine Potsdam could lose it all on Sunday. They are obviously not in top form, and face a Wolfsburg team currently on fire. A defeat pretty much means the title is gone and it could hurt double with Bayern breathing down their necks a point behind. Bayern play Frankfurt away and a win can give them control over that second CL-spot instead.

if nothing else gets batfink back to this threat, than how about this; he's very fav, Lina Magull scores a hat trick for Freiburg in their big game v Essen! In what should of been dfb's game of the week, my fav, Linda Dallmann scores first, but then batfink's fav takes over to win a come from behind 4-2 win and take over 4th place over Frankfurt/ Both our fav players are in consideration to make the NT Euro squad. Freiburg has the added punch of fwds Petermann & Kayacki as well as being NT hopefuls

and here are some of the the highlights of this last weekend's games

    Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich;
if you can get passed BM's atrociously bad new color coordinated unis, some nice highlights here as Frankfurt gets the upset with the return of Mandy Islacker, who nets her 18th & 19th goal. I think everybody wants BM to loose these days due to their boring playing style. Hopefully they will stop playing from the back as they gave up their 2nd goal that way/ One note just recently on the comeback trail , Nora Holstad Berge, got taken out after only 34 minutes of the game. Got to wonder if it's another injury? or maybe only to switch to a more offensive player since BM was down all ready by two goals
    http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-1-ffc-frankfurt-vs-bayern-muenchen/17547/

    Turbine Potsdam vs Wolfsburg;
here you really got to chide the media for not having the full game available for tv/stream viewing as it's the #1 & #2 respective teams out there.Looks like Wolfsburg is in a league of their own these days with all the super fwds they got; this time it;s Wullert has a fantastic run on the third goal scored by WOB. I do feel that their success is in part since my pick as the best player in the world today, Pernille Harder, has joined the team. She might of only joined WOB for the 2nd part of the season, but she & Lina Magull of Freiburg(who had scored another brace this last weekend) should be battling out for league MVP. Even my choice for 1st half of the season mvp, JoJo Elsig, couldn't do a decent defensive job as the super fwds ran all over TPs back four. Potsdam still remains at 2nd place(and a chance for next year's CL)
    http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-turbine-potsdam-vs-vfl-wolfsburg/17548/

and Essen seeing their chance of any movement in the standings as they loose rather hefty vs usual under achievers, Jena. Essen's back line has always been their one weakness, and again it shows as they get clobbered from endless counter attacks. it's a shame for the weak showing as so many of their players are on the iffy line on will they make their NT Euro squad selection

@hotjam2 The Full Match is here....
    https://www.rbb-online.de/rbbsportplatz/themen/turbine-wolfsburg.html

A big match won by the team with overall better discipline/team shape, and far more talent in the offensive department, Potsdam's flaws were fully exposed leaving Wolfsburg a clear path towards the title

For me the player of the match was a clear choice between Pajor or Popp, with a few brief moments of skill witnessed from the otherwise invisible Hansen and Harder.

Oh, Potsdam really need to find something A LOT better than Aigbogun or Prasnikar as foreign attacking options too.

    thanks for the link! After viewing the whole game, I would disagree with you; as Harder totally aced this game;
She picked up the pk within minutes for the first goal,
She nutmegged Elsig for the cross that led to the third goal by Blasse
She nearly scored a goal after once again dispossessing Walti from the ball(Zaradrill saved that one with a sliding tackle from behind)

Elsig didn't have a bad game, but she was being asked too much, having to be the midfield quarterback while trying to mark Harder & still racing back for her CB duties. since the FB Schmidt was half the time up field.
It was Walti that couldn't handle her spot, as mentioned quite a few times lost the ball as well with the poor foul inside the penalty box. I would of gone with KK as starter, possibly have her start of the one youth player in there, Siems?
Despite a spat of injuries, Potsdam was having early season success, not only with the likes of KK starting, but also bringing in Lindsor & Gasper, Don't know why they switched over to Prasniker & the horrendous Kulis?

    http://us.women.soccerway.com/national/germany/frauen-bundesliga/20162017/regular-season/r35928/

I guess this was do to make up postponement from a previous week. Once again Wolfsburg will be in display on the dfb game of the week, this time vs Essen. Hopefully Essen can give them a game after their disappointing one this last weekend. They finally got back teen sensation Lea Schuller. but coming back from injury isn't easy, Linda Dallmann's chances of making the Euro NT squad is on the line, so hopefully she'll have a goof game as well@
