while Dahoud & Christensen are gone (who would have thought?) Eberl is gonna stay
he extended his contract until 2022
why? because the club is so great, of course
according to SportBILD Grifo from Freiburg is becoming the Mo-replacement
    sounds good to me!

We are good nothing to worry about...according to our very experienced coach..we already have a replacement in hoffman for Mo D...is this guy for real????? I had some respect for him but he is making comments week in and week out that makes me wonder about his brain cells...also at the press conference he pointed out that tonight we would "Take the game to Frankfurt"??? FFS ..man tonights game was another massive display of embarrassing footballing skills and showing to the entire world how we have no answers and creativity for our midfield our attack is nowhere to found and our D is pretty much hanging in there with tooth and nail...we need so many players and a lot of fresh mind's in this team that its no longer funny...after almost 14 days of rest...this is what they had to offer???

yes, somebody spoke of the Frankfurt-match as "lethargic" and he definitely was right
I guess Hecking's brain cells are working quite well... look at the last two matches ;-) !!!
yeah I know, hindsight is easier than foresight... I'm ok with him... nobody was enthusiastic when he came but nearly everybody thought he plain and simple was the best option available AND the kind of man who surely would turn around the team as soon as possible... and that's what happened...
ok, there certainly are more inspiring coaches for supporters (like an even younger and smarter Nagelsmann) but what are the options? according to a lot of interviews some key-players were quite relieved when an experienced manager signed
but his excessive esteem of Hoffmann (understanding of play, ball skills, speed, versatility: check! but still...) is a little bit baffling to me too (in Cologne Hecking even prompted him to bring peace and order into the game... unfortunately Hoff was already replaced at the time!)... he furthermore told that he already liked him when playing for Mainz & D'mund and therefore was quite interested to work with him one day
I'm hoping for Grifo... in this case Christensen is a bigger loss than Dahoud

    TRANSFER NEWS
according to the French http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actu...sance-nancy-cinq-ans-a-monchengladbach/792183 Mickael Cuisance has signed a 5 year contract, 270.000€, CM/DM, 5 matches (2goals) for the french U18, 13 for U17... it seems he prefers us over Juve and Pepchester... quite a reputation we have by now regarding fearlessly ;-) throwing in talented youngsters into the starting eleven

this http://www.espnfc.com/story/3035903...nce-under-18-duo-cuisance-and-zagadou-sources is from JANUARY (it seems Pep has peaked and is now heading south ;-))):

Centre-back Zagadou has turned down a professional deal with Paris Saint-Germain and attacking midfielder Cuisance has done the same at Nancy in order to make the move to England.
The duo have visited City's impressive Etihad Campus and sources close to the club told ESPN FC that Pep Guardiola spoke to both to convince them to make the move.
Zagadou and Cuisance have impressed for club and country, emerging as targets for several European clubs after catching the eye as France U18s drew with England in November.
Manchester United, Barcelona and Juventus had been reported to be interested, but City have moved swiftly to agree deals.

Cuisance was compared to a left-footed Rabiot by the frenchy I trust with their talent; which is very exciting as Rabiot is the dream Dahoud replacement...even if completely unrealistic. Of the somewhat realistic options I still hope for Koziello or Amiri, but letting Cuisance percolate in the 2nd team while Benes is established alongside Kramer, would leave your midfield in a nice spot...especially if Ndenge & Sow make good on their potential as well.

the last half year I barely had time to watch anything except for the Borussia matches
at least I skipped into two or three Favre-matches, not enough to make any judgement, but Koziello looked promising at the very least
regarding Amiri: I'm asking myself right now why he even should think about changing the club: a huge chance to play CL next season, he found his place in the team, he's young and still a 'starter' who most likely needs stabilization AND he's coached by the the currently by far 'hottest' footballer manager (is it a hype? most likely not) ... Borussia is awesome, everybody knows that, but that's not what we have to offer right now :-(
I heard his agent spoke to Atletico... maybe he's just checking his market value, if not: I really don't understand such a move at this point of his career

I'm not sure about Ndenge and Sow (who is?) ... I like smart players like Ndenge (who might be more suited to the defensive part as far as I heard) and especially Sow's elegance (based on the few minutes I saw him play) ... but both have professional-contracts for quite some time now and they aren't exactly sending strong signals from U23 (which doesn't have to mean anything, of course: Dahoud didn't either... he later admitted that the style of Regionalliga West didn't suit him at all)... but Sow apparently has already been overtaken by Benes (who is in his first year)... they definitely have to sign a Dahoud-replacement but Hecking already told that he's not thinking about the 15-20M transfer-fee range because in his opinion such players mostly aren't able to live up to the high expectations

Christensen-replacement (reports are that Eberl is still begging Chelsea for a 'deal'):
after Fosu-Mensah (United) WZ brings in a new name: Panagiotis Retsos from Olympiakos

anyway: I wish everybody a happy easter! (hopefully combined with at least one point from Hoppenheim)

Koziello is incredibly slick. As for Amiri, maybe he's just sick of playing for a village club and that's why he's refusing to sign an extension; plus with Gross & Grillitsch coming (as well as Geiger preparing to make the jump to senior football) he may not find as many minutes as this season.

I wouldn't hold Benes surpassing Ndenge & Sow against them. Both are intriguing talents, but Benes is one of the top talents of his age group in all of football.

a couple of years ago, I think I mentioned BMG missing out on MLS as a place to find cheap options. Looks like they were in New York last weekend scouting Cyle Larin.

    You could do worse.......and have.............

I don't know much about Troupee, but I like seeing you linked to a top Young RB...especially given Egbo's stagnation.

With some of the deadweight getting moved out; a quality young RB so Elvedi can play CB regularly, a young CB like Retsos, Cuisance, and a young attacker or two; I'd be happy with the talent on board. Especially if you added a first team ready mid like Grillitsch would've been or Nagy would be.

if he is out to experience sparkling sightseeing/culture or a breathtaking clubscene or nice beaches with girls or just the pulsating life in general it's even more unlikely he's ever gonna sign for Borussia ;-)

although I have decided to replace Dahoud with Grifo some time ago SportBILD is favouring Young Boys Bern's Denis Zakaria who (1,91cm) will become the new Patrick Vieira (some say)
maybe they are just warming up old rumours... but given our history with young swiss players it's not far-fetched

Traoré wants to stay at Gladbach
as does Johnson (recovered by now), according to BILD an astonishing four year contract is in progress

Cuisance finally signed until 2022 some days ago
today Traoré renewed his contract until 2021
according to Badische Zeit (Freiburg region) Grifo (6 goals, 11 assists this season) is joining Borussia (in exchange for roundabout 8M?)
according to Eberl there might be a chance to loan Christensen (again) if he's not gonna impress Conte in training camp... a huge! bid to buy him seems off the table
    Ginter rumors (again)

watched him on youtube (I always wonder wherefrom these vid-guys always get this awful awful music)
looks like a type of player Hecking favors in attack (he spoke of a 'plan B' for attack some days ago... I guess he meant another type of attacker... bigger, stronger.. to throw in in 'special' situations)
Larin seems like a guy who isn't around for hesitating... I like that
still I wondered how much of these youtube-goals he would have scored against Christensen or Vestegaard... not that much I guess
you think he has it to mesmerize Bundesliga? ;-) or rather 2.Bundesliga if anything (like our Canadian Friend)?

I note your "wink".....though I'm somewhat puzzled by it. BMG doesn't have a lot of money to spend, but clearly needs help everywhere-including up front. Larin is getting looked at by a number of clubs in Europe. Two big things for me: 1). He's healthy. On this club, don't discount that so casually. 2). He can run-and with no definitive understanding yet as to Dr. Evil wants to play going forward I think that might be put to good use. Stindl playing off him as opposed to broken Hahn at this point might bring some worthwhile different looks to Gladbach's attack arsenal. Mesmerize Buli? Hey, I think he can mesmerize Drmic-we could just let him take it from there. I really wish, instead of say....begging Chelsea.....Max would look a bit more toward Liga MX and MLS for reinforcements......where they might just get more bang for their coin than ya think.......

Barring some younger players, if MLS players were that good, they'd already be in Europe. That salaries are that different. And I say that as a fan of the league and of my local club, Columbus.

As far as those younger players go, however, I'd keep an eye on Crognale and Artur from Columbus down the road. Assuming Columbus gets to keep Artur (he's on loan from Sao Paulo). Crognale's still pretty raw (made a couple rookie mistakes recently)--but he's got impressive height and pretty quick feet for a defender.

I don't think I'm disputing that. There are some younger players getting scouted though. BMG was in New York watching Larin destroy the Jr.Citizens a few weeks ago. One of the Mexicans is already performing in the Bundesliga. Castillo strong-armed his way to Turkey in the middle of last season and likely cost Dallas the treble. They're out there......and as you've mentioned.....are relatively cheap! Should be right up Max's alley.

Wendt is next to extend his contract
according to WAZ Zakaria is coming, too (interest of S04, B04, RB, L'pool, T'ham is reported)
according to EXPRESS Stindl has to play for Jogi at this cup nobody is really interested in
