@BaritoPutra Mahi rating this weekend, man of the match: Go Ahead Eagles – FC Groningen 2-3 Go Ahead Eagles: Zwarthoed 7; Suk 6,5, Fischer 4,5 (87. Locigno -), Schenk 5, Achenteh 4,5 (56. Man of the match: Mimoun Mahi crancks up his transfer value a little week by week. Due to his two goals against Go Ahead Eagles, number fifteen and sixteen of the season, FC Groningen will have problem to retain his star player. With six goals in his last four duels Mahi is the man in shape with the Northeners.
^^^Just a cautionary reminder that Zivkovic was on fire when he was an 18 year old at Groningen and has yet to show the promise at a bigger club.
Well, to be fair Zivvi had already disciplinary problems there, But Mahi seems to have a good head on his body, so that's an advantage over Zivco.
Hopefully good enough to reject Morocco (or at least to wait to make decision) for the sake of his overall career... I am particularly interested in him because looks like he can play in the center of the attack, an area we desperately need.
Several reports indicate that Mahi has been contacted by Moroccan head coach, and he is at least considering to represent Morocco. If this is true, his debut will be up against... the Netherlands. Irony.
If he doesnt bleed Orange, I dont want him to begin with!! Go away!!! Back in the 1970's they started dissecting human beings from Dutch car crashes. Turns out the blood from Dutch people was not only red, it turned out to be ORANGE!!!! To this day in science they call it Blood Type OR. Its a very rare blood type. Its brilliant!!! True story!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know why Depay wasnt on the bench to day against the Angry team?? I'm guessing an injury, since its unlikely to be form
Mahi seems to get an invitation from Morocco for the match against Oranje and he accepts it as far as I understand it.
Well, too bad... probably won't be a big lost and matter in the long run. The Dutch-Moroccan players, for whatever reason, have been under-performers over the years. The two exceptions are probably Boulahrouz and Afellay, although I'd argue they weren't really "household" names as they should have been (mostly due to injuries). The recent batch in the past few years is pretty mediocre too, perhaps even below-average, regardless of their country of choice. The last two called in Dutch NT, I recalled, were Maher and El Ghazi.. ugh Ziyech is probably a long shot for the Dutch NT had he rejected Morocco. The trend is not in favor for Mahi.
^^^^Looking at the Stoke roster, he is a rare substitute these days. Last action was the beginning of April.
He was never gonna be a starter for Oranje anyways, but it be nice if we had him as a bench player because he can score the odd goal or two
He is injured again and didnt play much last months because of health problems. Stoke city offered him to extend his contract last month and he did, so they are still counting on him.
Isnot there some conditions you have to meet ( I thought you had to have a certain amount of school years in that country) before you can play for them if you havenot got the nationality?
LOL, big time, I don't know about the schooling requirement. The one that is always used is "nationality" irregardless if the player ever set foot in the country prior to the NT call up. US NT finds all kinds of German players who had one parent who was American. they come into our NT without any problems. We also had one Dutch born and trained player, Earnie Stewart!!!
Nope. If one parent is of foreign nationality, the child can then quickly claim that same nationality and is then legally allowed to play for that country (even though he may have never set foot in that same country)
So we need to make someone loose the Dutch nationality when he chooses to change to another, unless one can put forward specific reasons why the Dutch nationality should be kept alongside the new one. That will sift out the opportunists. What use is there to an Ivorian passport then.
I donot. I take it away, unless certain circumstances are met, because of changing nationality. Not for the reason why. So, if Brilliant Dutch changes nationality to US citizenship, it's because of that and not because he likes DT, that I would denationalize him or should I introduce the word undutching someone
Expect more of this because of mass immigration into Europe. Before you know it half the continent will have dual citizenship, and that should make for interesting FIFA teams. The Algerian WC2014 team for example had many of its players born and raised in France
