Why is Cavallini out of the picture? (Not that he was ever really in it).

Chile's U20s are taking part in the WCQ tourney of that category: the LB, Colo's Colo Cristián Gutiérrez, was born in Canada.

Didn't we go over this a few posts back? That is not accurate.

His twin brother David, also born in Canada, plays for your guys' U20s.

Besiktas are still #1 in the League, 2 points ahead of the second place team.
seems like they are still doing well even with the loss of Gomez.

Besitkas is currently top of the table a little more than halfway through the season. Hutch has appeared in 17 of their 19 matches. So fair to say he's having a good year.

Hutchinson scored his first goal of the season in Besiktas's 3:1 win at Hapoel Be'er Sheva in the Europa League Round of 32. It was his first goal in a UEFA competition since he scored for Copenhagen in 2006-2007.

It appears that Zambrano may have picked up his first convert. The Scottish Sun is reporting that David Wotherspoon, currently at St. Johnstone, will be joining CanMNT in June if the paperwork goes through.

Has anybody seen this guy play and could offer some insight?

We certainly seem to be pinching a lot of players from Scotland these days.

you either play for Scotland who aren't doing well or you play for Canada who are also bad. Well at least Canada qualifies for the regional championships while Scotland haven't qualified for a Euro in 20 years.

as for the US poaching German players well to be frank most of those US-German players would never have made the cut in the German team. Jermaine Jones is proof of that played 3 friendly games with Germany back in 2008 and was never picked again. While he established himself as a regular in the US team. There is just too much competition on the NT.

That can be viewed in two ways. Play for Canada and always make it to a tournament that really doesn't get much following, or play for Scotland and possibly play in the second biggest tournament there is. I would also say that Scotland has a slightly better chance of getting to the World Cup than we do.

Scotland will not make the WC 18 just like us. The Scots have also been dreadful for a long time. I've seen a few ex-Scotland players comment on how they've all but given up on their NT. Even the Scottish League is essentially a joke of a League. Even if they make a Euro they will never win the tourney nor even last in the tournament.

I def see Canada making it to 2022 before Scotland. 4th place play-off is their best opportunity though. Might also need to some failures from Honduras/Costa Rica.

I am never gonna defend the current quality of the land of my birth...so don't take this the wrong way......but if your last sentence is a valid measure we really need to write off most of the teams in Europe. Since the tournament expanded to 8 teams (and beyond that now) in 1980 (prior to that it was essentially a knock out cup that culminated with the semis and final in one country)...what have we, 6 winners? Yes, Scotland has never won the Euro...and may never win the Euro....but in that tournament era that started in 1980 they have as many Euro wins as countries like, say, England and Italy ;)

I think the reason so many young players are eligible for Scotland and Canada is simply that there was a large immigration from Scotland to Canada from the mid-60s to mid-70s......and the kids who came with their parents then are now parents to kids that were born in the 90s and 00s....and have the choice.

I meant besides winning I don't see them getting far in the tournament if they even qualify to begin with. While Canada do have realistic chances of winning the Gold Cup. And they've won it before too.

6 goals in 6 matches this season. He looks ready for a nice move.

Whether it's a mid-table club in the Premier League or a big club in say Portugal/Turkey, he's def ready
