Here was the follow-up response from this Rhino hack, who was on a podcast run by a Bethlehem Steel supporter who clearly had his own issues with the City Islanders.

Guys, Harrisburg dropping from USL to the ASL to help that ramshackle circuit get d3 sanctioning is on my all-time dumb things leaderboard.Oct 31, 2016, 9:02 PM

Another sign that the team is not folding this season...(from the team's website)

Harrisburg, Pa (October 31, 2016) – Have you thought about going pro? The Harrisburg City Islanders Football Club is proud to announce that our 2017 season open pro-team tryouts are set! Our two-day tryout series will provide interested players the opportunity to showcase their skills to our coaches and other integral decision makers from our club, in hopes of joining one of the USL’s original franchises. We are excited to see some new talent!

Tryouts will be held on November 22 & 23 at In the Net Sports Complex.

well in all fairness it would not be the first time in soccer history that a team took tryout fees from everyone and then did a bait and switch...

Did you miss a ? mark on your sentence?

Harrisburg is not moving to Nashville. They did move to Lancaster but that doesn't seem to be working out.

Parts of the NPSL Nashville FC team along with other investors created the USL Pro expansion team Nashville SC.

Wasn't only about half their games in Lancaster? I think part of the reason they were there was due to the late decision to move out of Skyline and couldn't get all the games at City Island. But they have had a couple games in Lancaster in the past (I think maybe a US Open game) and that did better attendance wise.

They played half of their games in Harrisburg, but were at the H-burg baseball stadium, with the other half at the baseball stadium in Lancaster. In fact, they aren't officially even called Harrisburg any more. Just City Islanders.

The club announced in February of 2016 that they would be leaving Skyline Sports Complex, dividing their home matches between FNB Field on City Island and Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster.

And they didn't even play all their games last season between those two venues. They had a couple of games - including one Red Bulls II home game - played at Millersville University.

They averaged 1,462 in Lancaster, 1,816 in Harrisburg and 377 in Millersville.

Prime and Kenn, thanks for the recap and attendance figures. I watched a couple of games online at both stadiums. Not ideal, but from having to been to the Harrisburg stadium before to see the Senators, as least the facilities for the fans was much better then what was at Skyline.

The real question now is, can the City Islanders exist in a new D2 league that USL is becoming? Will the USSF and USL create a new D3 league? City Islanders don't have the money or facilities to meet current D2 requirements.

    Lancaster FC repped this.

I wondered why they got rid of him to begin with.

Maybe it had more to do with the end of the Union relationship. Maybe they were paying all or most of his salary. They then went with a local option. It looks like the didn't have a good season on and off the field. So maybe the GM took the hit.
