I bet Stoke City isn't too thrilled with Arena for playing him.

Agreed. Lletget was really coming into his own this season, and he looked to me to be the Galaxy's best player. While I don't feel bad in the least for the Scum, it's a shame for him.

They were not stoked about it, to put it mildly.

Lletget is a good kid. I remember seeing him while refereeing Sporting games in Santa Clara, and my daughter's team (a year or two older, IIRC) used to scrimmage them as well, since they had the same coach. I reminisced with him a bit at the first LA/Quakes game at Avaya, and he's really grown into a nice guy.

LA is in trouble with injuries to Seb and Gyassi.

He's good if surrounded by great players, but he won't carry the Galaxy with the team they have now.

I know - I was kidding. I was never all that impressed with him TBH. They've still got some good players, like Jermaine Jones, Boateng, Husidic, and some good young players like Mendiola. Gals will go out and get some help I'm sure, and they will likely spend some serious cash to do it. Are the Ibrahimovic rumors still alive?

LOL at the thought of Onalfo coaching Ibrahimovic.

I found it a little harsh cheering for butthead to score in our stadium. Hopefully, the hat trick will have exhausted his scoring for a while.

Great to see our guys do so well. Terrible to think that we've regressed to Il Bruce as our head coach. Of course, if it screws with the evil, cheating, smog-breathing, water-stealing galactopustules, that part is good.

    Go Quakes!!
    Go USA!!

I think Onalfo will be gone by mid-season...the egomaniacs on that team will be running the asylum. I don't see Jones or Gio listening to a word he says. AEG will bring in a new coach and change the roster to make a playoff push.

Ibra would probably demand a coach of his choice as a term of his contract...

most enjoyable, entertaining match I've ever attended at Avaya. Great to see Clint and Tim back out there, and Pulisic lived up to the hype. Atmosphere was fantastic and that free kick to seal the hat-trick for CD...wow.

although, his first goal, where he gets the nice through pass from Pulisic and manages to squeeze off the shot with two defenders literally draped all over him, might've been his best on the night.

One of the greatest soccer goals I've ever witnessed. Thought I was watching Owen Nolan. Happened right in front of the Ultras, too. :)

It was such a great effort and a classic Dempsey strike. You just reminded me of Nolan's 44 goal season - some of them of the spectacular variety. That guy was the epitome of a power forward. BTW my wife and I looked for you at the opener tailgate, six-pack in hand. Apparently we just missed you but will try again. Nice to see CD back in scoring form, just one away now from tying Landon's all time scoring record!

That makes a lot of sense. Does LA Galaxy have a relationship with an EPL team? It seems like they would be good to copy the Patrick Viera model and bring over some former big player who needs more experience than an EPL academy team.

Ha, i got it. They could get Ryan Giggs.
