Any tweet that uses the words "Nunes" and "intelligence" is bound to be confusing.

So if The President has one key ally in the House, he can block the legislative branch from doing its job? That's reassuring.

I read a great analysis about all this which i now can't find.

The house never was the came in town because GOP can block

The senate is the dangerous investigation and time horizons are long including for the FBI

So the real danger to Drumpf is ongoing political embarrassment from CI, FBI and Senate, which weakens him and especially in the run up to 2018

Loss of the senate in 2018 would be a huge blow as then the DNC can go full muppet on his arse and destroy him for 2020

Lots of moving parts but there is certainly a path where Drumpf becomes politically radioactive,

This is why I think he will simply cheat in 2018 - BIGLY

    This is fascinating

My own particular experience in this was as recently as 3-4 years ago, there were significant movements within fossil to engage on climate change. Unfortunately what happened is the dinosaurs won and the strategy has been cynical. Disengagement with the public discourse (which they lost) and head in the sand in order to wring every last $$

So that is what you are seeing with Drumpf. His moves won't revive coal - they simply protect margins.

His regulations were paid for and got.

“Climate change is a highly inconvenient truth for nationalism, as it is unsolvable at the national level and requires collective action between states and between different national and local communities. Populist nationalism therefore tends to reject the science of climate change however strong the evidence.”

That reality is reflected in populist platforms around the world. In France, for example, the far-right National Front traffics in climate change skepticism. They've rolled out a “patriotic” environmentalist platform that opposes international climate talks as a “communist project. “We don’t want a global agreement or global rule for the environment,”

This! Is exactly what the plan has been all along.
While the media has been speculating on ... Well everything and others have been making jokes about it.
    Their deflection has been working.

Anytime there's some sort of information that is detrimental to the cabal. There comes another tweet like: Obama wire tapped me! Then the media run around looking for the leak.

Nune's deflection was about the worst most guilty arsed thing I have ever seen

Let's not pretend this was 3D chess

Anyone competent would have allowed a lame duck investigation then made sure it all went nowhere

    This was pure panic

Cause it's Trump it's all backfiring BIGLY. This will just lead to an independent investigation where all the usual Republican modes of obfuscation will be of no use.

but how could it not work? GOP controls the house by too big a majority and were careful to involve Nunes in the transition

IMO its more an epic fail by guys who never had to sweep an investigation under the rug before :D

The way you do it is get super excited and make huge statements, then spend 6 or 7 years delving into stuff - then come out with a lame report :ROFLMAO:

    Two.

Ryan could remove Nunes at any time.

The pure panic is the Dems and the MSM freaking out over what Nunes actually found. They are trying to smear him as much as they can until the info he is talking about becomes public. They did the same thing with Comey when he announced that e-mails from Hillary were on Weiner's computer.

That's his point. Just having Nunes as the head of the Intelligence committee isn't enough to block the House's investigation. It also requires Ryan to be on board so he doesn't remove Nunes.

Jorge Villafana must be the most left footed player in the world to not be able to play RB. We had 3 guys capable of playing LB and 90 minutes of Zusi on the right

There are legit questions as to the extent of the associations of actors in The White House with Russia. FFS, there were 10 (?) Benghazi investigations even though the first 2 said it was sad and bad but not wrong. Why not be as thorough when the question is not incompetence, but collusion and...well, I don't want to go there.

Yes, because it was a change in policy and could have had (and did) influence on the election.

But by comparing those two in terms of "panic" is different. The issue was about the emails regarding Weiner, by and large, the announcement of a new step in the investigation, not the actual investigation. The issue with Nunes is the lack of an investigation.

If that ally is a committee chair, and a majority of the Reps from that chair's party stand behind them so that they're in no real danger of being forcibly removed, sure.

I don't know if anything will be reassuring about our government for a long time, if at all. I keep worrying that we're at a level of dysfunction that can't be fixed.

Awesome. Our President can have multiple indirect contacts with a foreign government that interfered in our election, he can refuse to disclose information that might link him further to that government, and Congress won't investigate. Meanwhile, Congress launched 7 investigations of Benghazi.

Voters not only don't care about that level of extreme partisanship, where in Congressional members place party over country, they reward the party that did that. While complaining about how unfairly their party has been treated.

    Did I miss anything?
