FINALLY! The season begins! Sacramento Republic FC (0-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 at home) at Seattle Sounders FC II (0-0-0 overall, 0-0-0 away) Sunday 2:00 p.m. kick-off at Starfire Sports Complex Television: None Radio: None Online: http://www.SacRepublicFC.com/matchday-guide or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6977y6isJ3o Republic FC will host two official watch parties at de Vere’s Irish Pub in downtown Sacramento and SacTown Sports Bar in Old Sacramento.
Match was never much in doubt after SRFC finally broke through. Totally one-sided in the second half. And, SRFC managed to avoid the 85+' gack. So we've got that going for us...which is nice.
That was a solid effort. S2 could barely get anything past the midfield. We swarmed the ball in the middle of the pitch and made things very difficult. We also saw some solid, crisp passing and ball control. I'm not sure trying to center the ball to Kneeshaw's head is the best strategy, but at least we gave up on that pretty quickly. Sooooooo close to having four goals. Nice to see Klimenta get in a full 45, though I'm surprised he came in for James. Hope he didn't get banged up. Gotta say, after watching USMNT Friday, that first 15-20 minutes was some pretty ugly soccer.
