and that makes me wonder if Wolfsburg can stay a full 90 minutes with the likes of Lyon, who can now boast the most powerful lineup ever seen/or at least on paper. as they bought two more FIFA top ten(on the short list) picks in Morgan & Buchanen to add to 5-7 others they got on their squad. Bayern Munich might have the easier route in the CL as they only got to play as PSG has had several injuries lately and just lost another league game. But they're midfield got battered at times and got scored twice on against the run of play, in meantime, the Hendrich-Islacker connection is producing wonders over at Frankfurt as they're work got the first goal > please, Jones take note! as still shocking why Mittag is the #1 striker on your team and not Mandy. Right now in league standings Islacker 16 goals Mittag 1! Essen-Frankfurt highlights http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-sgs-essen-vs-1-ffc-frankfurt/17037/
here's Caro's highlights from the last game. Notice her unusual way she swings her arms while dribbling. Guess successful athletes in most sports have their own rhythm about them
Turbine Potsdam stays on top with a late goal by Draws to beat SC Sand, but not without drama! and who to bring it on but the lovely JoJo, who after getting knocked unconscious, almost tore into the ref. Which of course resulted into another yellow. Please refrain JoJo, the title depends on you! and of course the Kemme/Huth combo on top(not sure if they're both back as of yet)
from what I've seen, Lotzen has a 'fearless mentality' about her, sort of she's not scared to throw herself unto a moving truck if she had to, Unfortunately it has caused her several injuries in the past. If she can just keep healthy, I think she'll make the NT. Here is the Bayern Muinch/Bayer Leverkusen, highlights with the usual BM underwhelming performance, lil Leonie gets a red http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-bayern-muenchen-vs-bayer-04-leverkusen/17156/ I was wrong, it's Johana from FC Sands that caused the mischief, but you won't see any of it in this ighlight vid, but TP did suffer injuries their other cb,Wesley & the Swiss/African girl(both taken out early in the game. Looks like Huth nearly got one, http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-sc-sand-vs-turbine-potsdam/17157/ and remember, the dfb game between Frankfurt vs Freiburg game will be later on today http://tv.dfb.de/livestream/frauen-bundesliga-1-ffc-frankfurt-vs-sc-freiburg/16743/
Underlining the depth in the Bundesliga, Wolfsburg struggled to break down 9th placed Duisburg with nearly a full strength team in the first half. Good to see Caro Hansen come on at half time to make an impact with assists on the first two goals before scoring the third herself from the penalty spot.
and yet if you look at Duisburg's lineup, it's not a light weight at all; http://us.women.soccerway.com/match...liga/fcr-2001-duisburg/vfl-wolfsburg/2286863/ Kiwic starts for the Swiss NT, Kirchberger & Markas for the Austrian NT. Razs for Hungary. Bresonik obviously a former NT for the German side. Radke & Himmighofen have had long distinguished career's and were there when Duisburg won a championship. The GK, Nuding, only 24, but an 8 year vet in the Bundesliga highlights; http://tv.dfb.de/video/highlights-msv-duisburg-vs-vfl-wolfsburg/17158/ from the little shown, Pajor is particular impressive, especially with the first run in the 2nd half. She's right now at her prime, and yet gets spare change in playing time. She really needs to expand her horizons and get on a team where she'll be a starter. Same thing with Van Egmond, she's a tough, physical midfielder for the Matildas who only use 3 mids usually in their configurations, yet barely plays for the Wolfies. Looks like Mittag finally got to start, but didn't get anywhere. They gave Blasse the night off, guess it's from having to chase down Alex Morgan all day long, lol(from previously game)
Thank you, hotjam2! Do you know anything about Lena Gössling? Can we expect to see her back on the pitch soon?
I hope she'll get fit to the Euros. If she gets ready for the Euros, I'm curious if she's gonna play or if she's gonna work as a sub like she was in the Olympics.
had to go back to my own quote from a few weeks ago. but truly sad about Lotzen. Her uncontrolled recklessness was actually shown in the BM//WOB match a from a few weeks back, where she came in the last 12 minutes of the game and proceeded to run twice into an WOB player. Here is her stats in the Bundesliga, her last full season was in 2012-13 as a 19 year old http://us.women.soccerway.com/players/lena-lotzen/144179/ here she played at the 2010 u17 semi final http://us.women.soccerway.com/match.../germany-under-17/korea-dpr-under-17/1035653/ the leading scorer of that tournament was another German girl named Malinoswki. She too had an injury prone career and was forced to retire. Thus depriving Stefi Jones of two promising previous forwards, and she badly needs a goal scorer for her senior squad
Wolfsburg join Potsdam at the top of the table after today's matches. Turbine dropped points at Essen, Wolfsburg continue their strong run. Low-scoring Bayern follow somewhat behind, but need unlikely slip-ups from the others to have a chance.
a couple of German girls that are doing well over in England, GK Anna Berger who got a shutout & MD Marisa Ewers, who got the only goal in Birmingham City's upset over Arsenal in FA Cup quarter-finals. Ewars used to be an FB over at Bayer Leverkusen, but I guess could figure out it was a sinking ship, and of course jumped ship! BC used to also have another couple of Germans, Carly Schroeder & Bella Linden. There weren't listed on the game sheet, so dunno if their still there. But still major accomplishment as take a look at what an stacked team Arsenal had on the field. 4 England NT;s(Williams, Nobbs, Carter & Jody Talyor. Former WSL leading scorer, Beth Mead, 3 Dutch NT's, 1 former WC title holder(Heather O'Reilly) & every NWSL fan's greatest player of all time; Kim Little! Here's the write up of the game http://www.thefa.com/news/2017/mar/26/birmingham-v-arsenal-sse-womens-fa-cup-260317
