And the people there have a weird superiority complex about big soccer , I just mentioned it one day in passing when I used to post and they went crazy.
I noticed that to a lesser degree too. There were more Brazil based posters there but a lot of them were incredibly biased by their clubs. You couldn't get any sort of good debate. There was a SPFC fan that was a huge Ceni fan. We had a big argument over whether Ceni was better than Julio Cesar like 9-10 years ago. He refused to eat any crow after JC established himself among the top GKs. And in the Italy forums, a lot of them didn't like Brazilians.
Used to lurk Xtratime for the Albania updates... but they wised up and made their own forum now. Surprised the Bosnian users haven't done the same.
I went back and took a look at XT. I see my buddy is basically posting by himself in the Brazil forum. SMH. He ran everyone out of town.
I was being sarcastic when I called him "my buddy." This guy would never come here. Here'a senior administrator over there. I think he rather post stuff and talk to himself. Like I said, he wasn't looking for REAL discussion to begin with anyways.
Not to the degree you have lol. But I definitely was guilty when I went back and forth with the Ceni fan. That guy was biased beyond reason -- on the same level as Guigs, maybe even a tad worse if you could imagine that.
It's hard to because guigs is like trying to have a discussion about politics and life with a post mordernist. The Ceni stuff would be hilarious tho. Kind of a staple of Brazilian fan debate since I've been watching. Guigs is to the point where he tries to act like he's "above" the rest of us fans. His long rants defending diamite for instance were an example.
You inspired me to dig up some of the threads. I found one that started the argument. http://www.xtratime.org/forum/40-brazilian-football/210715-hail-cesar-2.html
This post sums up all the crap I used to deal with on that forum. Forum admin did not want to eat crow at any cost. He tried telling me Hernanes and Ramires were more talented players than Marcelo. I'm not claiming to be any sort of genius at the time. I would expect most people to see the things I saw. Pure idiocy all over that forum. http://www.xtratime.org/forum/6970045-post836.html
Insane but that's why I liked reading xtra time. And the thing about Helton would have made me crazy , and then the arguement that Ceni is better on crosses because he's taller lol. He's not strong or decisive going for the ball in the air at all.. then the argument that makes South American fans get laughed at, "he can score goals so he's better" wtf.... yea Ceni is calling of a prime Ronaldinho or Juninho for that fk 18 yards out... Jesus
@Harambe Alvinegro, glad you're diversifying into soccer for a bit. Want to hear your takes on these CL matchups and stuff. EDIT: BTW, who titles the videos, out of curiosity? It kind of sounds like you when I read it, but I wanted to confirm.
It's usually me but Giff adds to them also. It's something we've been discussing a lot trying to find the right "buzz words''. The search for titling is complicated, like when we did the Jordan Cameron one where we said Jordan Cameron is a coward, people got butthurt but it also got more views. The headline really clouds people's perception of the video which is understandable but if you are going to get butthurt and comment a paragraph post why not listen carefully? The comment section in the Kapernick videos recently is another example. Both sides are just insane
I see. Yeah, the Kaepernick videos have been interesting to follow. But the reality is if an NFL team thought they could get him back to where he was under Harbaugh, Kaepernick would have a job, kneel or no kneel. This is a league where even the shattered corpse of Robert Griffin III can get a job somewhere on the hopes that he could get back to some sort of semblance of what he was. Teams will pay QBs if they think they can rehab them. But they won't pay QBs who are going to be a distraction on the bench. Tebow is better than a lot of the backups in the league but he doesn't have a job because the media makes it into a circus. Kap is now a circus and teams don't think he's good enough to put up with.
Yea that was when he first visited , I was lukewarm on it , I don't see him being the In between the tackle threat everyone claims , I always thought he was extremely average even when I saw him in high school football, not saying he was average there but I wasn't surprised to see him go to UCF instead of a big school
Sounds like we're on the same page about him. I'd hope this doesn't stop the Vikings from drafting a RB because that would be a mistake.
That was essentially the point I was trying to make and idk it's weird how easily people are manipulated by the media. They can make anything into some sort of racial tension then everyone eats it up like crazy. I'm not surprised by the comments however I am surprised by how easy black people specifically are easy to manipulate. I know they tend to have less education on average but it doesn't explain the lack of high resolution ideas that come from them on the kapernick situation. If espn says it and pushes a narrative everyone believes it. For instance NBA players sitting out , been going on for 12 years.... espn got suckered by the NBA on a tv deal and that's why we see all the outrage and stories , they are pushing a financial narrative for themselves. If I was a corporation I'd do the same things but still it's sickening . And not singling out black people cause everyone isn't influenced by corporations but damn they are the most brand loyal and corporate loyal people on earth. Quite scary sometimes.
If joe Mixon is there in the 2nd rd spielman better. I wonder if that's realistic that he might fall.
I think second round is realistic. I was hoping to get a shot in the third round, but all it takes is for one team to like him to grab him.
Quinn has been pretty explicit that he likes Mixon too. Perhaps he sees Joe as the missing piece in the offensive transformation he's initiated.
On the NBA point, if the season didn't have so many games and the league's structure didn't accommodate two or three superteams with no one else coming close, they wouldn't have this problem. It's their own fault.
