Honestly I am puzzled, it looks even a bigger marketing signing than Morgan at Lyon. I mean 4 months stay or less depending when City get eliminated from the Champions League which is likely to be in the semi-finals.
I also wonder if they will change their system for four months and play 4-4-1-1 rather than 4-3-3.

The good thing is she will bring more fans to the games and hopefully, the club can make them come back in other games.

Bit of an aside, but I just noticed that the FA Women's Cup 5th round has Arsenal-Spurs as one of the matchups. I know Spurs are 3rd div. on the women's side, but considering it's a match between the two big North London rival clubs, is there any indication that the attendance for this match will be particularly robust?

Spurs men have a game so not many spurs fans expected. Arsenal men do not have a game so that's an extra 200 t 500 maybe. Crowds are in the 1000 in general at Borehamwood, so I don't think it will be much more than this.
Saying that I was not expecting extra for Kelly Smith celebration game and the groud was nearly full with 2 531 fans

The FA Women's Cup draw to be played on the 19th of March :

    FA WSL 1 v FA WSL 1
    • Notts County v Yeovil
    • Man City v Reading
    FA WSL 1* v FA WSL 2
    • Liverpool* v Everton
    • Sunderland* v Aston Villa
    • Bristol* v Millwall
    • Chelsea* v Doncaster
FA WSL 1* v FA WPL
    • Arsenal* v Tottenham
    • Birmingham* v West Brom

ALL the home teams are FA WSL 1 teams who enter the cup at this stage, the only FA WSL 1 teams who are away are those who got drawn against FA WSL 1 teams.

And the Spring Series FA WSL 2, we will have matchday 4 out of 9 on Sunday and the table looks like this :

    1. London Bees 7 pts pl 3
    2. Durham 6 pts pl 2
    3. Aston Villa 4 pts pl 2
    4. Everton 3 pts pl 1
    5. Sheffield 3 plts pl 2
    6. Brighton 2 pts pl 2
    7. Millwall 1 pt pl 3
    8. Oxford 1 pt pl 3
    9. Doncaster 0 pt pl 0
    10. Watford 0 pt pl 2

There is no promotion or relegation and as usual the FA cannot organised a fixture list with some teams having played a third of the league while Doncaster have not started yet.

If a team was starting the league on Matchday 13 in the Premier League, there would be outrage, in women's football, the FA makes it happen and no one is shooting against it.

Doncaster had the same problem year with 3 games played at the mid season break while others were on 7 to 9 games. They promptly sacked their manager after losing those three games to the top 3 teams on the table and ended up relegated.

...this scheduling thing sounds more like it's Doncaster's problem and not the FA's if it's happening twice in a row with the exact same team... Just a thought.

I need to check last year's thread for the postponement games reason but this year.

Game 1 Doncaster away to Sheffield, pitch waterlogged.
Game 2 FA planned match the same day as the FA Cup Round 4 that takes priority
Game 3 FA planned game during international breaks and because teams are forced to release players under FIFA rules, the clubs can asked for games to be postponed.

I know last season, Doncaster had one game postponed because the pitch got waterlogged with a kind of typhoon.
But for the other 4 or 5 games, I don't think they had a say at all.

I just re-read last year's thread, the main reason for the stupid schedule last year was having 9 teams made it a very strange schedule.

The FA are the kings of messing up the FA WSL schedule, never made a good balanced one in 7 seasons :ROFLMAO:
The first two seasons when Arsenal were dominating they had Arsenal with many games in hand so that they were playing catch up until the end and only went top of the table in the final weeks.

Heh... having 9 teams should not, in any reasonable sense, make scheduling lopsided. USA and AUS had dealt/are dealing with it just fine, keeping teams within a game of each other the entire season.

    Watford 1 Durham 1
    Doncaster 4 London Bees 1
    Millwall 0 Brighton 0
    Oxford 0 Aston Villa 0
    Sheffield 1 Everton 2

    Table

    1. Durham 7 pts +2 pl 3
    2. London Bees 7 pts 0 pl 4
    3. Everton 6 pts + 2 pl 2
    4. Aston Villa 5 pts pl 3 +1
    5. Doncaster 3 pts pl 1 +3
    6. Brighton 3 pts pl 3 0
    7. Sheffield 3 pts pl 3 -1
    8. Millwall 2 pts pl 4 -2
    9. Oxford 2 pts pl 4 -3

As usual the table is a mess as teams have got many games in hand. Doncaster have announced that they still ahve no date for their postponed games and the FA WSL 2 finishes on the 21st of May.

Carli Lloyd played 90 minutes, Reading parked the bus and nearly made it to 90 minutes with 0-0 until Bronze scored late in the game.

here is Carli Lloyd's highlights on her first game with Man City. It's not an overwhelming performance, especially in the first half, where she's the obvious target/striker and she does comes up short. She plays better in the 2nd half with her passing & dribbling. The one that's going to loose out most with the arrival of Carli is the flying Scott lady, Jane Ross, who was the league leading scorer of last season, but now has to sit to make room for Carli. One must wonder if Man City would of scored more goals if Ross started instead of Carli? As Reading is considered a bottom of the barrel, league team

Spurs two divisions below Arsenal and Doncaster one below Chelsea. Both teams underperformed on the day and this combined with quality oppositions... boom.

Well yeah, the divisional talent gap is already big, but those are still some rather eye-opening scores.

here's the full Ma City CL game but with Danish commentary

if scoring a goal is the most important part of soccer, well than Carli Lloyd delivers! But just as important of a pick up is Melissa Lawley over at left wing as she continues to impress. And I was wrong, looks like there is a place for Jane Ross still, passing it to Lloyd for the assist!
Do think that Lloyd will have to sit out(or at least not start) the next game though as she did pick up a yellow card. The Danes have a well, techno crafted team, but were lacking a notable goal scorer. They finally brought in an 18 year old named Moller in the 2nd half, not had the closest chances, but real fire power makes me think they're not going to get any desperately needed goals for next game either

The rules on booking is a game ban for 2 then 4 yellows and then at every booking.
Record is cleared at semi-final level, so that a team does not miss a player who is stupidly booked in the second semi-final after getting one in the previous rounds as it has happened in the previous years.
