Portland is widely considered to be the model for Supporter Culture in MLS.

If you're looking to make a dig then be mindful I'll delete posts soon.

Otherwise the simple answer is this:
Total home games played EVER = 1.

We're learning our songs and chants, and we're still getting to know each other among the supporters groups. Give us some time to mature.

Everyone knows that TFC has a great supporter culture . . . and, ironically, they ALSO have a capo. Kind of a pattern.[IMG]

Oh I think we all know that Seattle and Portland pinched the capo stand concept from overseas.

And overseas is capo stand concept from soccer nations like Serbia, Croatia and the like. Chicago has always had that Eastern Bloc culture going for their way of being. Check.

Does one witness capo stands in the EPL, SPL, German Bundesliga, Seria A, La Liga and so on in Europe. Naw. Certainly in our hemisphere, our Americas, having some dude with a electronic bullhorn up in a stand is not standard at all in Argentina, Brasil, Colombia and those soccer cultures have the singing and drumming scenes on lock.
I just figured Atlanta would be more Atlantic coast style for the supporters section a la what has been the norm in D.C. and their culture for support. No stand, no bullhorns. But right on.

That is probably why I prefaced my question with this, "Not looking to pick on y'all for how you operate...."
    Take it easy Gunner.

Speaking as an Italian American with a long family tradition of supporting Serie A, I can assure you that Capos are a very real thing there. You DO know the word "capo" is Italian, right? It's very much a part of calcio culture. So . . . yeah.

Yeah, probably not. They look like they're doing just fine without them. Not really relevant though . . .
Well, that does sound cozy! I think we'll just muddle along, but thanks for your interest and your somewhat irrelevant points

You do know that there are better supporter sections in our hemisphere than Seattle. Like Boca Juniors, Gremio, Tigres and what they have been doing for generations. No capo stand and bullhorns needed.

It appears the newer the club to MLS, the capo stand and electronic device bullhorn is growing. Which is fine. Just that the majority of MLS appears to rely on not going Eastern Europe. Again right on Atlanta. And even though this is your first year in MLS, I was under the impression that y'all had a much more robust soccer supporter heritage. I mean I remember the Atlanta Rukus of our nation's old A-League.

You mean the countries with about a century's worth of footballing heritage?

Great! We want you to be happy.
The BEST supporters sections in MLS seem to embrace it . . . perhaps they're all secretly "Eastern Europeans"?
Thanks again! You are easy to talk to! I've heard Texans are.
    Oh, you noticed?
Who gave you THAT impression? We're making it up as we go along, but then again, we've sold 30, 000 season tickets so we're making a good start.

Correct capo does arrive from Italian calcio. And is a common word in our Americas for the hincha culture. We use the term all the time here in Houston. We just don't hand our capos a bullhorn and place him 50 feet in the air.

Boca are the Harvard of home atmosphere. Borussia Dortmond is the Yale of home atmosphere. How they get along without a capo stand is relevant.

Jeez, do you Atlanta boys sure get wound up with just a few questions. Damn. All I was asking was what's up with the massive capo stand and bullhorn need figuring y'all would be as Southern as it gets and not follow a Portland or Chicago and go more D.C. or Houston or our Southerners to the South of the U.S. where the drummers and horns lead so no back to the on the field action conductor with electronic bullhorn in needed. HA! Take it easy Georgia.

Well, don't start now! You all seem happy in your colorful hats and boots

It's in no way relevant, other than providing one of many, many options.

You ask a leading question with an arch tone and touch of condescension and wonder at our response?

Perhaps it helps that I have Kevlar skin so I do not read to much into people's questions, jokes, comments or the like here on BigSoccer over the years and just genuinely look to answer their questions, if they have one about Houston.

Again, stated "right on" with how y'all bring it in MLS supporter culture. Typed this clear as day. Really, take it easy on these here interwebs. People might ask questions about the newest teams in MLS. Shocking I know.

Well, I'm not an attorney, but I once lived down the hall from one. We never really spoke much at all - I once thought he was my friend Mike and said, "Hi Mike!" but it wasn't Mike and we both looked away.

However, if I DID speak to him, and we talked about debate and logic and whatnot, he'd probably agree that your original query was a "leading questions".

The AOs have capos so I don't think you have a point. Stop trying to make digs just because the new team has more STH than your stadium can hold.

Would like to see the seven nation army chant modified to become Josef Martinez' song ala Santi Cazorla in this vid:

    Starting at 54 seconds

Oh, Jo-sef Mar-tin-ez!!! wash, rinse, repeat...
