I like the Pfister signing. Obviously he is a placeholder till the end of the Asian cup qualifiers, given his age. Faqiryar working with Azizi will also do wonders for his development and confidence. According to @Footballnameh the AFF has also set up a friendly vs Singapore before the Vietnam game.

Hamid Karimi was injured for a long time and had to play division 1 in Herat.

    In other news,
Both Islam amiri and sharityar are playing in the same league in India...

Should be interesting when they play against each other.

I think it is hilarious (and sad) that the AFF fired Segrt because of Amiri yet he is not even invited to the camp:D

At the very least he was on the same level as Arezou and far superior to Sandjar.

Amiri will definitely have a few bruises after that game.

Thats a shame, however he was fit around the time of the 2013 SAFF championship and Challenge Cup.

Its a shame that the team became unsettled all bacause of AFF and Amiri and Segrt being fired. But Segrt was the type of coach who stuck by his own way, he wasnt that interested in inviting Sharif Mukahamd, Jabar Sharza etc

but the positive is that Lali and Dastgir have invited new and exciting players to the training camp for Afghanistan.

I have a feeling Otto will bring some good level of experience to Afghanistan but the day to day will be run with Lali as Otto needs a few games to understand his players.

Lali told Ariana News about imposibility of a friendly match on non-FIFA days due to players' committment with their clubs. The only concern is the match with Vietnam. If we win this one, the team would do well in the next matches.

23 players and a minimum of 3 goalkeepers are the rules of the Asian Cup. And 2 extra players on the list in case of injury. So I would go for:

    GK:
    Ovays Azizi
    Emal Gariwal
    Kawesh Haidary

    Leftback:
    Amin
    Hosain Alizada

    Rightback:
    Noor
    Intezar

    Central defence:
    Saighani
    Sakhizada
    Hashemi
    Manan Farahi

    Defensive/central midfielders:
    Alikhil
    Husin
    Mukhammad

    Attacking midfielders:
    Shayesteh
    Salem

    Wingers:
    Norlla Amiri
    Jabar Sharza
    Popalzay
    Kouhyar

    Attackers:
    Amani
    Zubayr Amiri
    Allahyari

In case of injury or something else:
    Hadid, Iqbalzadeh

Seriously? What's with the APL players? Most of them aren't even semi professionals. Alizada for hadid? No way what are you smoking bro. I woukd put Benjamin Nadjem and hadid in there for alizada and farahi, and why is zazai not there?

You really think they gonna put all players on the list from outside Afghanistan? That's why I put some of the Afghanistan players there so they can get experience. Zazai is not there because we got better players than him. With Salem and Shayesteh and the
wingers there is players enough for the attacking positions. And Hadid didn't play a game in a year! But I understand that players like Hadid, Zazai, Iqbalzadeh should be there instead of Alizada, Farahi I also want it.

First of all, having 6 APL players isn't going to help us, especially now it's make or break since this is the only chance we have to go big within the next few years, we can't afford to lose. Secondly, there's nothing wrong in Bringing players from outside Europe, they are still afghan. Plus if they want to develop the APL they could invest more money in it by actually making a all year round season with additional teams. Making 4 players sit on the bench isn't going to help them. That being said, I agree with Kawesh haidary. Pfister needs to get the best out of this team; we actually have a talented squad now we've got Kouhyar, husin and noor in there. Really exciting. If only nadiem amiri suddenly has a change of heart....oh well.

And having hadid in there is quite important, he's one of our most experienced players and he's still quite young. So I agree, he needs to be there.

    My prediction for the squad:

    GK: Azizi, Wakily, Haidari

Defenders: Amin, Saighani, Hashimi, Attayee, Sakhizada, Jamali, Sharif Mohammad, Hatifi, Nadjem, Alizada, Entizar, Alikhel

Mid-field: Tahir, Salem, Shayesteh, Farshad Nour, Nurla Amiri, Sharza, Azadzoy

Attackers: Amani, Zubair Amiri, Amrudin Sharifi,

Zazai, Popalzai, Kouhyar and Hadid are not fit yet. Shirdel does not have practice. Nour Hussain has not shown interest.

I also see a possibility for inclusion of Iqbalzada.

He was on the bench for palace a couple weeks ago, he got invited for the training camp so who knows maybe. Anyways he got loaned off to Accrington Stanley so I don't think he's going to hold back since a debut for crystal palace seems far off for now. Anyways, I hope zazai and hadid are fit for the friendlies, bringing 6 APL players is a big mistake. 3 okay. ( haidari, Hashemi and hakimi).

    His interview with palace

Why don't try to play some of the players from Afghanistan? We have a friendly where they can be tested. And Pfister gets a inside look of how good they are. Maybe the first half some Afghanistan based players and the second half some of the foreign based players. Of course there is nothing wrong with a team with only players from Europe. But if they show their skills and some players prove they deserve to be in the national team why would you take this opportunity from them? Bcs being from Europe isn't making them being better players.

Hadid didn't play for more than a year! How does he deserve to be even called up if he isn't even injury free? Kouhyar still isn't recovered.

Shaheen lost 3-1 to a very ordinary team from Bangladesh. How can the national team give more places to domestic players when they are at a low level.

The domestic players require plenty of development, there needs to be s pathway for them otherwise the national team will never see any domestic players in the team.

First simple advice I will give to Shaheen players.... play simple, you have 11 players on the friend, use them, don't be Messi because you have not got the skill yet, play simple football.
