I think so too, but Wenger's rule is that players get a month off, and Alexis is apparently returning to training today. Last match in the Copa America was June 26.
True, it certainly is a longer rest than last year but my only worry now has his ankle injury 100% healed now? It looked like a really bad injury and with our injury record, I fear we are rushing him back way too soon :/
I can only really speak from my own experience. I had knee injury and later and ankle injury, my knee was fine in about 3 weeks while training on it, but no games. My ankle wasn't normal for a full season, and I was probably 8 years younger than Sanchez. Extrapolating for injury severity and a higher level of sports science available I would say he won't feel better until late November early December.
Just visual. Looked like a sprain a lot of swelling, but I've had teammates where the swelling causes an issue or covers an issue. He is back in training though, so 12-15 weeks for 100% seems normal, 4-6 for 80-90%. Of course this is Arsenal... so any number of issues could arise.
When his injury was first reported, I don't recall any sites saying he would be out for months and months. All said it should take a minimum month to heal but the worry i have is that Sanchez wants to play against Liverpool. I think that's too early IMO.
Anybody know whether our game today against the Vikings will be on TV? Should be interesting regardless, no?
I couldn't find it on my TV listings (Comcast), but it's streaming live on the official website: http://www.arsenal.com/vikinglivestream
I think Walcott is telling Wenger he wants out. He can't be this bad intentionally. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Santi and Momo look pretty sharp. Ox is active but final ball & decision need major improvement. Theo is painful to watch.
The takeaway from this game is that Wenger has a selection headache. Elneny is solid and very consistent. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Yep...based on what I've seen so far this preseason, starters would be: ------akpom------ JC-----santi----Ox ----MO-----xhaka Gibbs--monreal--holding--bellarin --------Cech Hope giroud, Kos and ozil will make a quick comeback because that side is missing a lot of quality.
It has to be Gabriel (with Holding or Chambers) at the back and Monreal at LB. Despite Theo terrible form, he will start as well over Akpom. Too early for him.
Actually, i totally forgot about him. Since he is just back (like Alexis) i think Arsene will keep him on the bench next week end. Having said that, Momo deserves to start on his performances so far. He seems to be more confident and powerful.
No doubt Elneny was good today. His passing was crisp and he has a food engine. He does well with one twos. Him, Xhaka, and Santo in the midfield will be nice. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
