I repeat he does not get enough love, especially in a position of need, when is he back from his injury?
Nothing new there. 99% of BSMX (and Mexican fans in general) were shitting on him during his time at Barcelona. A good portion of those people were "surprised" when he dominated during the Gold Cup. Have a look at the Jona at Barcelona threads if you want an idea of the overall lack of foresight around here.
It was worth it for him to stay with Barcelona for that long. And for him to be able to be on the first team, although he didn't get much PT, really says a lot about this kid. Think about how many kids come up through the ranks of Barcelona's cantera and how many actually make it to the first team.
Or maybe his move away from Barca actually allowed him to show his skills instead of just his potential. I'm all for a player staying and fighting for playing time but you can see when they are grooming a player to have a bigger role, and clearly Jona wasn't. He was getting subbed in at the 85th minute and not even playing cup games. He was even stuck in limbo with his contract not allowing him to be played at Barca B. I always harped on his reluctance to move or go out on loan when it was clear he was far down the pecking order at best and not even considered at worst.
@VillarrealCF pic.twitter.com/LJAzZ9ACoQ— Jonathan Dos Santos (@jona2santos) April 10, 2016
