Great production work here in melding the two different versions of the song together. RIP George Martin
At Long Last Love Motion Picture Soundtrack (1975) Music & Lyrics by Cole Porter Label: RCA (CD issue: Varese Sarabande) Director Peter Bogdanovich thought it would be a good idea to have his cast of mostly non-singers perform the musical numbers live during filmmaking. The actors sang accompanied only by piano, with the orchestra added later. Bogdanovich intended this for Elliot Gould -- who could actually get through a song, having starred in 1961 on Broadway in I Can Get It For You Wholesale and a 1963 London production of On The Town. The role went to Burt Reynolds instead. Apparently, there are 5 different edits of this movie in existence! Several songs either eliminated or cut down for the various versions appear on the soundtrack, which was originally released as a double-LP set. A major misfire, but this recent CD issue of the soundtrack is a welcome curio.
