Liverpool may be a slight threat due to the Klopp return factor, but none of the others are big threats. I would prefer an easier team so we can concentrate on the league and cup, but I wouldn't be worried if United, Shaktar or Valencia were drawn. Porto aren't in a great place, but then either are United, Valencia (despite 4 wins) or Liverpool.

I forgot to mention Leverkusen, because I would say they alongside Tottenham round up the 3 best teams left in.

Considering LvG's United side is considerably worse than the LvG coached Bayern teams you manhandled a few years ago, I wouldn't be affraid of facing them. Your pressing will give United's ponderous, slow, methodical passing game a huge problem.

Congrats overall both teams could of played alot better over the two legs but BVB just winners. I see alot of people here saying they want to avoid teams like Tottenham.

If I were a BVB supporter I would prefer Tottenham or Fenerbache as they are in a race for the EPL and the CL spots and the Turkish Lig.

Teams to avoid are inho Braga, Manchester United, Sevilla, and Villareal as they have nothing but the Europa League as the chance for a title is gone plus the winner gets a CL spot and those teams only have the EL to achieve that

    cheers

The Mkhitaryan revenge quest in the EL first Qabala then Fener

Cool for Sparta Praha, if we play I will go see them. I think Spurs will prioritize the league I think they have the best shot of the teams remaining. PL glory would mean a lot more than EL. Don't want to draw them, but I think they will be focusing on the PL.

I would like us to draw Spurs or United. A dream come true if we eliminate one of the rich boys and later watch them lick their wounds, while splashing out yet another monstrous 150 mil. for mediocre players.

I'd like to see you destroy Valencia and get ratboy Neville the sack in the process, although that might not be so likely now Pako Ayestaran's joined the coaching set-up there.

    Interesting...
The two clubs, which were the biggest favourites to win EL by betting houses (Borussia had 1:4, T'ham 1:8), were drawn to meet already. I would prefer United or L'pool much more because of their quality and because it wouldn't be a shame if BvB would lose, but if they lose against Tottenham, who will likely rest some players, it would be much more embarassing in the eyes of european audience.

Tottenham net spend last 5 years , £-53.7M
    Dortmund €37.6M

Seems like "sugar Daddy club" Spurs are only spending money they generate through selling players. Perhaps you should splash another €60M on crap players.

Let's be clear that a big chunk of that was earned back through Gareth Bale.

Our fortunes on the other hand were screwed because we were underpaid for Götze and lost Lewandowski for free.

Also nobody thinks Tottenham is a sugar daddy club.....because they aren't.

What pisses off people over here is that clubs like Tottenham have a reputation of putting crap products on display while securing mammoth TV money (and subsequently favourable commercial deals as well) despite missing the CL on a regular basis. Mario may have changed that but it's probably temporary and compounded by the misfortunes of Chelsea and United.

it was in direct answer to "I would like us to draw Spurs or United. We spent all the Gareth Bale so none of that was clawed back, we only spent the money because we got it, would have preferred to keep the player. If we got £40M for him we would have only spent 40M - regardless of Bale it would have been the same.

In fact Soldado was nearer the 20M mark (rest was addons he didn't hit) and probably a bit better than the 15.4M on Immobile

In 2013, 37 million was a good amount. For that 37 million and add some change, we got Miki, Auba and Socratis.

If we are going to compare failures then let's compare successes. Who from your recent history compared to Kagawa? Götze? Mats Hummels? Marco Reus and PEA? This is assuming that Lewandowski and Gundogan are comparable to Modric and Bale.

And that's just players. For us being out of the CL is an anomaly whereas for you guys being in it is an anomaly. We have 2 league titles in the last the years. And also a pokal. We have a better record against Real than you guys do. The best part is if we were playing in the EPL we'd be coasting to the title.

Unless you guys win the EL this season I just don't see how you guys compare to us on the pitch.

Jeez, we didn't catch a break with this draw. Two Europa League contenders in a row?

The hardest possible draw but as long as there are no injuries Dortmund are a level above anyone in the Europa League and should win.

That being said I don't understand the comments here about Tottenham.

Tottenham have a lower annual income that Dortmund and have made money by selling their best player often to United. Most of the money they have spent on players comes from selling Carrick, Berbatov, Modric and Bale. They did waste a lot of the money they brought in, but even the Bale money was not completely wasted. Dembele, Lamela, Erikson and Chadli have all done well this season. If Pocchentino's Tottenham are comparable to anyone then it is to Klopp's Dortmund. They have developed young players from the youth team like Rose, Kane and Mason. Additionally they have bought cheap from lower leagues like Delle Allie. I said before the draw they were the second best team left in. Whilst Tottenham have a billionaire owner he is absent and they spend the money they make.

As for United they are not a sugar daddy club either. In fact they are the opposite since their owner actually takes large sums of money out. I hate United more than bvbslash hates Bayern, but they deserve credit for not trying to destroy the Premier League like Barca/Madrid try to destroy La Liga. United could have had separate TV deals from the rest and won the Premier League every year, but instead they bargained collectively which has allowed the other teams to have so much.

Maybe if the Bundesliga did not take a month off in the period when most people are at home and want to watch football then they would gain more from TV. Maybe if they tried to advertise their product more they would have greater TV deals. The Premier League was smart to take advantage of the period 2004-2009 when they really were the best league in the world.

Finally drawing United/Liverpool would have been by far the best thing for Dortmund, because despite having big names they have average teams. There is nothing to fear from either. Liverpool apart from the permanently injured Sturridge have no other world class player. United have De Gea and that's it. Tottenham on the other hand have a far superior team both in terms of balance and individuals to the ones mentioned above.

The positive is that it's a difficult draw for all the top teams and by the last 8 Tottenham and Leverkusen/Villarael will be out.

It would be helpful if you availed yourself of the facts before expressing so strong an opinion. Perhaps, then, you wouldn't make yourself look so foolish.

Lumping Spurs in with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City is sheer ignorance (or laziness) on your part. Spurs are not a sugar daddy club. They generate all the money that they spend. And, as already pointed out by roons, Spurs have actually made a significant net profit on transfers over the past five years during which this current squad has been assembled.

The team is the youngest, by some distance, in the Premier League. And unlike many other top English clubs, there are good number of English players and academy graduates at its core. And that is the way that things will continue in the years ahead, as Spurs pay off the debt for their new stadium.

Anyway, all that out of the way...............I have to say that I am hugely looking forward to this tie. Two of the very strongest teams remaining in the competition. It would have been a worthy and highly entertaining final. Should be two fantastic games. And I am really looking forward to experiencing the legendary atmosphere at the Westfalen stadium - one of the football grounds I've long wanted to visit.

I have Dortmund down as favourites because of your greater experience and because it's likely that you're settled in 2nd in the Bundesliga and can therefore afford to prioritise the Europa League - a luxury that Spurs cannot afford since they have a chance to challenge for their first league title in more than fifty years. But if Spurs can keep the tie alive for the second leg, we should all be in for a thrilling decider at White Hart Lane.

    Cheers.
