Looking back through the results in the playoffs of El Salvadorian, Guatemala, and Honduran leagues I'm a little confused on what the tie breaking criteria is. It seems like sometimes it's away goals, other times it's regular season standing, and other times there's a penalty shootout.
Have the tie breaking rules changed a lot back and forth through the years (since 1996)?

They tend to change. In Guatemala it was usually the standings Idk about now.

In HON is frustrating as it changes every six months. In the last tournament, the playoffs first tie breaker was the away goals rule; in the semifinals, the team's position in the regular season. In the finals, 30 extra + pen. if necessary.

In El Salvador the tie breaker is league standing
