I think Bloemendaal is one of those deranged Feyenoord supporters we always see foaming at the mouth in de Kuip.

Another problem is that we would also have to beat Czechia.

Van Basten didn't do so bad. He gave us two legendary games. He just got very unlucky facing Guus and with Boulahrouz kid dying.

Even a country like Albania can qualify with this new system...

It more of a bad news to Newcastle than to us, but Krul is out for rest of the season.

Oh he was trolling us the other day on the main UEFA thread, he particulary made the point on his German thread to come on here and wind up the Dutch! Just for the record, I too hope the Dutch make it.

I totally agree , France is superior to Holland on all levels . Just look at how their young players seem much more mature than ours. The Martial, Griezmann , Pogba , Kondogbia , Varane addition to other arriving Thomas Lemar , Kingsley Coman , Adrien Rabiot . What worries me most with the Dutch players , not their technical level but their lack of intensity, lack of character and individual initiative . I fear that France gives us a cruel lesson the day of our game. France will expose all that is missing in our football : physical power , intensity , refusing to lose duels . Still, I am not so pessimistic as some for our future. Riedewald , Bazoer , Ake , Tete, Karsdorp El Ghazi and others can reach the top . It will take time, lots of time.

This is always France's starting XI:

    -Griezmann-Benzema-Valbuena-
    -Matuidi-Schneiderlin-Pogba-
    -Evra-Varane-Sakho-Debuchy-
    -Lloris-
Bench: Mandanta, Cabaye, Kondogbia, Coman, Martial, Lacazette, Giroud, and Matthieu.

  17. Yeah, like Robin van Persie was inspired by the intensity to strive for perfection by Denis Bergkamp and do the same, I see youngsters like Memphis wearing outfits as statements, while they have nothing worthy to mention yet.
Instead of walking around with American super models, they should be on the trainingsground perfecting themselves.

"Despite a 3-0 loss to Arsenal over the weekend, Man United's Memphis Depay decided to reward himself with a shopping trip in Manchester. Tran is the former..."

There is no doubt that Durk Kuyt should be asked by Blind and the KNVB to come out of retirement if the Dutch go to the euro

I have no reason to be a fan as he has never played for clubs I like but I am a Massive fan

A player with some technical skill and a workrate that rivals that of a horse. Very humble and always willing to teach the youngsters

He should of been included right from the start

So van Oostveen said that in does not matter if Blind wins or loses. He keeps his job and mid 2016 there will be an evaluation moment. This means that campaign 2018 will be lead by Blind.

Of course, drawing/winning against Iceland at home is a high demand. Unfair to judge a coach not reaching such an ambitious goal.

I wonder if he will make van der Wiel captain. I mean he is now one of the more experienced players and the oldies will be out soon. Should be one of the generation behind that. Just saying. Van der Wiel starts to make sense if you start following Blind's line of thinking. This might only be prevented by his son, who looked guilty (not sure) of a goal yet again in the last match (or maybe it was Bruma).

    Exciting times ahead.

However, Blind believes that his dad should remain head coach regardless of the outcome of their next two matches.

"It is a difficult question, but I think the coach should stay on after Euro 2016, even if we fail to qualify," Blind told De Telegraaf.

"I always support the national team coach. I did so when Louis van Gaal was in charge, I did so when Guus Hiddink was the coach and I do the same with my father.

"Let's not forget that he started the job at a rather complicated moment.

"I knew that he would be criticised when he became national team coach. I know how things work in the world of football and with the press.

"I don't let those kinds of things distract me, though, and neither does my father."

I'm ok with Blind to finish this Euro qualification. He does not have much time but you can find if there is anything positive to build on with him in charge. If there is then I may consider giving him more time. Unfortunately I did not see see enough (more likely any) positive to build on. Player selection? Not convincing. I read that VDW is recalled. Really? How many game is BMI suspended? If it is just one game, may as well call him back. Tactics? Questionable. Substitution? More questions marks. I'd like to disagree with Danny Blind staying. If you want to rebuild then now it is the time. Start a change with KNVB. We need to see a plan and vision. A goal should be set, to win Euro or World Cup. How would we be able to do that? The plan may not be successful with the current generation, but at least you lay the foundation for the next. I use a recent successeful rebuilt North American professional sport team for an example. Most of the times a new President come in, he/she often hire his/her own general manager which in turn hire his/her own coach which in turns bring his/her assistant coach. There is a few cases where the change did not happen where for the example, the coach has done well enough with the rebuild (making more progress than expectation, a hard working, always earned never given, never quit culture) to earn him/her the chance to continue (rewarded with contract extension). KNVB should have given Blind more time back in June/July if they wanted to give him a realistic chance to turn this qualification around. If he was a great coach, he would show us by defeating Iceland and Turkey already. I don't see how he can turn this team around given the players we have.
For JC who likes to criticize, I'm somewhat upset with him too. He starts the revolution at Ajax, but he was never there to do, only consulting. His plans are to have former players to involve more with the clubs. What if this plan does not work? Is he blaming these former players did not execute the plan as he visions? What if his vision is vague such that people does not understand him or perhaps they are not as smart to understand him? If he wants to help, get involved 100%. Don't just do your 10% and expect people to do the other 90%. If you can not do it, at least supervise it. Professional engineers do not stamp the drawing if they do not perform the work or supervise the work themselves. I understand that KNVB may screw him up before but if he swallowed his pride/ego and put the nation interest above his own, perhaps we may have won the 1st WC already. One may argue without his ego, he is not who he is. For contributing to football in general, JC may be the one of the top person, but to his country he cannot compare to Beckenbauer, who captained and coached Germany to both WC.
Sorry for my rants, but I am really pissed that we failed to qualify when 24 teams are allowed instead of 16, and the current form that we are in now. I will watch some Euro games next summer but not cheering for any team. May the best team win. My Euro 2016 is already ruined before it even starts.

Sakho, Evra, Debuchy and Schneiderlin aren't starter for me.

Kurzawa will take Evra's spot soon or late, Sakho should compete with Mangala/Zouma/Koscielny and even maybe Laporte if he doesn't chose to play for Spain...Debuchy is not good but there aren't that many options on the right side at this moment.

Another problem is that France doesn't have a good 10. But they have so many good DM/CM. Just Lassana Diarra, the game that he just had against Armenia was fantastic...He is a Anita x10. Much more physical presence, stronger defender, better dribbler...But I guess if France wanna play more offensive they'll rather put two strikers. Matuidi/Pogba is quite enough to defend. So you can associate Benzema/Martial upfront or Griezmann behind a striker and Payet/Lacazette on a wing...There are many options.
