i haven't seen the tuca games, and i likely won't bother watching this clown either. WC 2022, here i come!
People take Osorio's sample size from sh*t teams he has coached (MLS, Puebla, etc). The Mexican national team will be the most talented team he will have coached. For all we know, he can make the 433 work to our benefit and he is willing to give youngsters time to play. His style from what I've seen on youtube requires the players to be in tip top shape.
Pues hay que ver que pasa. No debemos precipitarnos en juzgarlo. Lo que sabemos es que todos los técnicos que conocen nuestra supuesta "idiosincrasia" han valido madre.
The only thing that I fully remember about his time at Puebla was how well his teams played. Usually they gave up goals in the last 20 minutes of the game and ended up losing points. Several players have come out and said the issues were with the owner, who was not paying them on time. I don't think Osorio will have that issue with the NT. The biggest question mark around Osorio, and what makes me skeptical, is the fact that he is a coach that likes to work day to day. He won't have that luxury with the NT since they only play 10 games a year, at most. None of this stopped the press from pulling out the same narrative...."Quien es este?" "Que meritos ha hecho?" "Hay mejores tecnicos en Mexico..."
The thing about this unknown Osorio dude is that one of the main reasons he is being brought over is because oh his undercover coaching. The guy is inexperienced and doesn't have a coaching presence. By this I mean, the guy will be a titere just how the FMF likes them, docile. Osorio will play the people Televisa wants him to play, and he will comply. If you fools think he can come in and do as he pleases, you are very mistaken and are very gullible. The guy won't change a thing, and will be fired in a few months, and then another submissive coach will be hired. Rinse and repeat.
Well, according to the guess they had on The Mexican Soccer Show, who is friends with Osorio, he said if he's forced to call up players, he won't be afraid to publicly call out FMF on it.
Bielsa is the same way but he solved that problem by working with the youth NTs. FMF has never really done that so I don't think they would change but it would help him refine and transition his style into the Mexican NT.
No offense but this is about as generic a response as we were bound to hear. Right off the shelf. Osorio walked away from Puebla due to exactly the kind of behavior you're talking about and it wasn't the only team he walked away from due to intervention from higher ups. Even before his name was linked with the Mexico NT job, there was talk of him walking away from Sao Paolo due to the fact that the team he had in place was being dismantled behind his back despite what was agreed upon when he accepted the job back in the spring.
They all say that...later on is found out they do it anyway...I think it was Aguirre who said it. they don't straight tell you who to call up, but give you suggestions of who not to call.
That shit happens everywhere man. Even ayso parents want to wine and dine the coach for preferential treatment. Blowjobs from soccer moms ftw P.S. Aguirre was found matchfixing so fack him.
I think he is talking about being the Colombian NT manager. Colombians on ESPN were saying he wasn't a popular choice to be their DT.
FMF to Bielsa: I'm willing to see what Osorio can bring to the table. He is unfortunately put in a position where the recent quick firings have put a lot of pressure on quick success, I just hope he comes in knowing that and is prepared to be thrown into WCQ immediately.
You guys crying Bielsa. Those are the consequences of supporting coaching carousels and shitty management by FMF. You reap what you sow.
If people are unaware of Osorio's coaching record, do you really think they would be aware of the machinations inside the Colombian FA when it comes to selecting a coach? It's as much a circus down there as it is up here with the FMF. It's hard to sustain a discussion with people who don't know even know who Osorio is, let alone have a grasp of Colombian football. Best case scenario, we all take a wait and see approach.
Perhaps, but if I'm not mistaken he follows the Colombian league and knew Osorio's track record, and is a Colombian himself. It at least gives him some merit no?
It is this same mentality that has us this way. The Seleccion is not a place to try coaches out. From most of you guys, I sense a defeatist attitude in just letting this guy slide by and hope for the best. If we were to demand more from La Seleccion and the people in charge, we would see things starting to change. Maybe it'd be a slow change, but it begins with the first step. We get out what we put in. If we keep putting in this defeatist attitude we will get a defeatist coach. I won't take part in this farce, and call it how I see it. The facts are that this coach had a failed stint in Mexico and MLS. MLS for God sakes. Even LaVolpe's grandmother would have done a better job. Until the Mexican attitude starts to change and until we stop spreading our cheeks for the duenos de los clubes, we will never progress.
We should all give him the benefit of the doubt. He did a very good job with Sao Paulo in his first year even though the president dismantled his team. Osorio doesn't strike me as a títere. He said it himself in an interview that he will quit if people interfere with his work. He specifically said Red Bull and we all know Puebla was the other team he quit for those reasons. He even put the president of Sao Paulo on blast just a few weeks ago for selling his players. He went as far as saying he didn't trust him. Give the guy a chance.
What makes you think the FMF will change their ways for Osorio? They didn't do it for Bielsa who has a wayyy better resume than Osorio and a higher chance to make an immediate impact in our futbol. The fact of the matter is that Osorio knows very well what he is up against. Could be one of the reasons it took him a while to come up with his decision. He will have to play within the parameters of Televisa. This is a matter of simple economics. He was made an offer he could not refuse.
Exactly. The number of words you type about Osorio being the new coach should be directly proportional to how much you know about Osorio. I don't know shit aside from him coaching Cuau in Chicago Fire. So I have no opinion. What surprises me is that there are still people willing to take this job. If the past 20-30 years is any indication Osorio should keep his résumé handy so he can start handing out copies in 6-8 months.
