Sounders and Whitecaps in the same Group for Champions League? Those matches are going to be insane atmosphere wise.
NZ was screwed the min the US clogged the middle. Playing long plays right into the US strength, your not gonna beat MM and CCV in the air. So their only hope is to play wide, but I'm not sure how good their wide players are. Even then if it ends with a cross, the CB's will clean up. Not to mention with the US playing a really good possession game, NZ has had little chance to counter.
Argentina won't survive the group stage. They got a horrible coach, who's only there because he's the son of the former (deceased) president of the AFA.
I thought some of his diagonal balls early between the lines were good but it looks like he wants to make sportscenter top 10 a little too much, still he is bossing in the midfield. Hyndman is THE MAN and Rubin is fantastic. Feels good to see us be the more talented side and playing with that confidence.
Or because he is on a card, and doesn't want to risk anything. Also none of the midfielders are pulling back to open up for him.
I'm sorry, but I just think this is crazy talk. Zelalem was exceptional in ball distribution in the midfield and only tried a feww trick-type plays near goal in order to create opportunities, something we have really lacked. I can't see anyone watching that half and not being impressed with his composure a skills.
I'ts a pleasure to see CCV and MM win every aerial ball and clean up the garbage back there. Miazga needs to cool it though.
Their CBs have been absolutely awful as well. Tons of balls pinging around in the 6 without being cleared.
Only to win the group. They're basically secured the #2, I don't see these Kiwis beating Myanmar 6-0. They can afford to wait and find our holes. New Zealand today came to try to Blitzkrieg us. Bad idea.
People used to say the same about a guy who's not playing in Finland. He's awesome, yes, but he slows down the attack when he has two guys open for a pass, yet he chooses to do a step-over and a 360.
