Kreis must be a bit frustrated - he wants to play a controlled, possession-based game and the field isn't bigger than a postage stamp. Nowhere to go.
True enough, but when he took it did he know how big the field was going to be? (And not just this year but for the foreseeable future.)
Yankee Stadium wasn't built last week, if it was important to him he could have asked (and probably did). And yes, that's the foreseeable future.
The field size will be a handicap for everyone in MLS. I don't feel sorry for Kreis. In the end if he adapts to it it'll be an advantage because his players will be more used to it.
The point is as you well know when he took the job they had grand plans to build a shiny new palace. Those plans have fallen through. I'm sure he'll get over it but part of Kreis' coaching philososphy is that of an idealist and he's not going to be able to play his pretty little possession game Just saying it probably gnaws at him a bit. I certainly don't feel sorry for him. He'll have to adjust.
There's a cluster of Algerian fans in the first base side lower box seats. Bad timing.— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) April 16, 2015
As I said elsewhere, he joined the club way before they knew they would permanently be playing in a baseball stadium.
Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa perrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdio! Why attempt the chip?
I'm not sure what to call that shot. It looked like he was of two minds. He thought about just taking a shot and also about chipping the keeper and then failed at whatever ended up happening.
He seemed to call that for persistent infringement rather than the foul itself which seems odd to me.
Ian Joy needs to strike the word "youngster" from his vocabulary. I joined in the 20th minute and I've heard him use it 6 times already.
Totally forgot there was a game this afternoon. Was waiting till 5 for Sounders2 to start. Glad I didn't miss anything except a bad miss.
Was Ballouchy's miss as bad on tv as it was here at Yankee Stadium? Good gosh that was brutal. Made me want to ask for my money back.
