I know. Now is the time to post that Greek vs. the German philosophers Monty Python link. A half-time sub - Friedrich Nietsche is off the field. Playing in his place is Rubio Rubin.
I would imagine that he should be able to train pretty quickly with a face mask, so he shouldn't really lose his mojo too much from this.
Very good news for Rubin...sounds like the concussion was just a 'slight' concussion and he'll only be out for about a week http://www.soccernews.nl/news/26455...uws:_uitgevallen_aanwinst_snel_weer_inzetbaar
I get pretty pumped thinking about Rubin, Flores, and Green leading the US attack in a few years. So much potential
Big news from Holland today.......... The Twelfth Yank @twelfthyank · 2h OFFICIAL: Rubio Rubin signs a 4 year deal with @fcutrecht. #USMNT FC Utrecht @fcutrecht · 4h Jeugdinternational Rubio Rubin heeft voor vier seizoenen getekend bij #fcutrecht. Meer: http://bit.ly/rubiorubinnaarfcutrecht ….
So is this a first team contract or will he still be considered a reserve player technically (even though it sounded like he'd have a good shot at first team minutes regardless)?
Cathedral bells were tolling And our hearts sang on Was it the spell of Rubin Or the Utrecht dawn -------------- Utrecht is known as a Cathedral City (Domtoren / aka Dom Tower), a 700 year old church.
AD newspaper reporting he will initially join Utrecht's youth team, but the club have great expectations for the future. http://s.ad.nl/3705974
Makes sense. Bradley played about half a season for Jong Heerenveen before becoming a bench player and eventually a starter.
Rubio Mendez Rubin @RubioRubin · 5h Happy to announce that I have signed my first professional contract with club @fcutrecht . "Dreams do come true"
Isn't this just the contract he was always going to sign, but couldn't until he turned 18? This isn't anything truly new, is it?
That contract (the one I think you're referencing) was signed earlier this year CC: @Gorky: http://www.fcupdate.nl/voetbalnieuws/257780/ This one looks like it's a full-on professional contract
BTW, I think the youth (Jong) contracts are for only two years in the Eredivisie (floor cap at 50% of a non-EU minimum or about $200K-$225K). After two years, the player is shifted to an adult status and a full minimum. Which makes me wonder if Rubin signed a 2+2 deal rather than a straight 4-year guaranteed one. He would have been "rubin' em" more in Kazan'.
