7 minute past the hour kickoff in remembrance of Hillsborough.

I'll probably watch, but probably flip channels more.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Pieters with a cross that beats Krul. 1-0 at the half.

Pardew starts a 3-5-2 in an attempt to play for a 0-0 tie and lost. This is what the team would look like if Pardew was in charge of transfers...

    Really, I'm not surprised.

It's the local media's fault. And that we're missing 10 senior players. Pardew said it so it has to he true, yeah?

It's hard to decide who to aim my apathy at... is it all Ashley's fault for appointing Kinnear and the clusterf*ck that followed (being the first PL team ever to not make a permanent signing over the course of a season), or do I blame Pardew and his unique ability to turn talented players into also-rans.

It's really hard to try and figure out what we all want now... do we want Pardew out? As I said ages ago... Pardew tends to rely on moments of individual brilliance, and nobody feels like we have a philosophy, or a manager who develops players (see the Merseyside clubs for examples of both). Are we building a side? We have Dan Gosling getting a lot of game time and I think we all agreed about 18 months ago that you could file him in the "Danny Guthrie - Darren Ambrose championship player making a brief appearance in the PL" folder.

Where do we go from here?

Sadly I think it may ultimately lie with an owner who sees this as an ideal season.

"We had a moment of Europe which put my brand in front of a few more eyeballs. I didn't have to spend too much to get those eyeballs. We got to the safety point of mid-table without a risk of Europe again that would raise expectations of me to spend more or put my brand at a risk of relegation. We got to that safety point early enough I don't have to sweat it out and most people have purchased their year's worth of stuff from my brand."

    Ick.

I think the Sunday Sun has the best response to that:

I'm trying to figure out which 10 senior players we're missing. It's one thing to make excuses, it's another entirely to just start making stuff up.

Everyone in St. James Park with that paper open reading it when they announce Pardew on the field would be glorious. Then put it away and cheer the lads.

He apparently refused to answer a Chronicle question today, but answered the same question from a different outlet.

Most of us aren't local. Most of us are angry that we have no ambition. It would be one thing if we had this league position after a) a European campaign or b) a Cup battle. The fact that we are now evidently just a feeder club isn't a product of the media. It's FACT.

    Thx,

    Jay!
