I think, having lost the dairy and BBC sites and with the Linford Christie site being highly questionable, that the most logical option is to head for Park Royal. I think Ealing would be willing to play ball and that we could get some great incentives for the regeneration of the area... plus it's well within the historic QPR zone and very well served by transport links (iirc, North Acton is only two stops away from White City anyway).
Hello all, We would like to post a new topic to the forum, but we're not entirely sure how to? We can only seem to post replies for existing threads. We'd like to update you on what's happening over at the Supporters Trust, QPR1st and connect with you on a more regular basis here, as with all Rs based overseas. You Rs!
Just created one for you -- https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/qpr-1st-the-supporters-trust.1980861/ Thanks! URs!

http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/121213-new-stadium-plans-1232327.aspx Club unveils plans for new 40,000 seater stadium in Old Oak "THE CLUB is delighted to today unveil plans for a new 40,000 seater stadium as part of a major regeneration project in the Old Oak area in West London."
Old Oak has a nice ring to it for a ground name. Though I'm sure it will have an official, corporate name.
So what are the opinions of the locals? Close enough to the home area of the club? 40,000 capacity sound right? I like what I am seeing anyways...but I'm in Iowa
I'm guessing the only downsides are: it seems to be completely tied up in the HS2 project, which is by no means assured to happen. And the stadium seems like it's part of the first phase of the development, which means that the massive residential/commercial element may never materialize even if the stadium is built. and that parking will be non-existent you're also losing that nice Central Line tube connection, but Crossrail + Overground + Bakerloo + a relatively short walk from North Acton station may make up for that.
it's not loftus road, is it? will it still be QPR? that's a serious question, by the way. I completely acknowledge that what queens park rangers is to you and what it is to me are two very different things. I'm a spurs fan who just happens to like to go to loftus road when I'm over. I pull for them, but I'm not overly arsed if they don't win. I love the neighborhood, I love the ground, I absolutely love a Saturday afternoon in and around loftus road. and while I hope that i'll enjoy popping in to their new home every now and again, I already know I won't like it as much. I can honestly say that if they go, QPR won't mean the same thing to me. now, I'm not suggesting that this fact should be important to you - obviously, it shouldn't. neither am I implying that any Rs fan should feel anything similar. but I am curious as to whether leaving loftus road will have any kind of effect on what kind of club you perceive QPR to be, and of how you relate to it/them.
I think the general consensus amongst Rs fans is that it will be emotional leaving Loftus Road, but a more modern ground with higher capacity is needed eventually. What fans want to make sure is that it's done correctly (as Dylan alluded to). Preferably still in a West London post code, not an over-sized "soulless bowl". As a fan, I would like to see Fernandes come through with the training ground, academy and stadium promises he has laid out -- simply for the health of the club. We've all had our fun at Loftus Road and realize it's time will be up at some point.
I agree with Kevin. Everyone knows we need a bigger/newer stadium. Everyone knows that cannot happen at Loftus Road. Most of the potential locations that have been mooted are farther away than Old Oak, so I think people are generally pleased with the location. I think it certainly will still be QPR. As I understand the new location, it's not only close (basically on the other side of Wormwood Scrubs prison from where we are now, going NNW) but so close that it is still in the Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. Are we talking about the ground being nearest North Acton tube station? If so, that's two stops from White City, three from Shepherd's Bush. Depending on what the situation is around the new ground, my pre-game/post-game/hotel spots may be the same as they are now, with departure from the pub 20-30 minutes earlier than at present. - - - - - FYI, Kevin, my mates have mostly been meeting at The Richmond (on Shepherds Bush Road) rather than at the White Horse of late because the White Horse gets so packed. The Richmond is farther from Loftus Road, but my friends live in Roehampton, so it's on the bus line they take to/from the games. As it is a bit farther away, they aren't forced to switch from glass to plastic on matchdays, so that's a plus. I've been there many times over the years. When I first went, they no longer sold real ales, but they reinstalled a couple of pumps of London Pride a few years back, so I'm happy there now.
Yeah, or Kensal Green on the Bakerloo. Closest station for overground trains will (someday) be Old Oak Common -- making the ground amazingly easy to reach. Though plans for that station and surrounding development could hinge on controversial HS2 plans. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Willesden_Junction_map_with_Old_Oak_Common.png
Fernandes is having a re-think on Warren Farm. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/queens-park-rangers-owner-says-7452287 “I’ve got to admit we may need to move on. I’m a little bit tired of judicial reviews and this and that, and we can’t stand still. We’re going to have a board meeting in a few months to decide, but if I was a betting man I’d say we’d be here at Harlington. It’s only a few complaining - but it doesn’t take many to stop the process. It’s like wanting to sign a new player who ‘umms’ and ‘arrs’ about coming. Do we wait forever or do we take the next best option? And then maybe you think the option was better anyway. I think we could win at Warren Farm, but now we’ve got another option, and I've got to the stage where I’ll wait for no-one any more.” -- Fernandes According to the article "Fernandes wants to work with the Imperial owners and upgrade Harlington, but has no intention of lavishing cash on the grounds." “What is a Rolls-Royce training ground?" [Fernandes] said. "If you give me the best football shoes, will it make me a better footballer? What makes a difference is the coach and a player. Do we need a Spurs?” Spurs new (in 2012) training centre: http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/the-club/new-training-centre/ Yes, Tony, the coach and the player makes a difference, but both of those have choices about where to go and the facilities in which they will work every day may impact their decisions. I can see that the new ground would be more important to the business over the long term. However, there's no indication from the ownership that they don't have the money to do both. I don't see this as a bluff because the people who are opposed to the new training facility will be opposed no matter what, so it looks like a true potential change in direction.
Redknapp resigns. http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/q...andes-les-ferdinand-chris-ramsey-2245953.aspx "Sadly I need immediate surgery on my knee which is going to stop me from doing my job in the coming weeks. It means I won’t be able to be out on the training pitch every day, and if I can’t give 100 per-cent I feel it’s better for someone else to take over the reins."
New shirts. Look good to me, though I expect the hoops don't go all the way around where the numbers go in the back, as is the recent trend.
Yeah, they don't. Maybe it's a League rule? It is hard to see the terrible number font the League uses, maybe they need a solid background.
I like the little blue pin-hoops on the Dennis the Menace shirt. Makes it a bit different than recent versions.
Worth a watch. Not just showing off the kits -- it includes interviews with Jamie Mackie, Massimo Luongo, Nedum Onuoha and Darnell Furlong.
I like the all blue sleeves, though I would love to see a return to a QPR letters logo on all blue sleeves again in future. That's probably my favorite look.
There are a few of things that I like about this picture: 1. I like the look of the first and second kits from the front. I like the broad hoops. I like the piping (red on the first kit and blue on the second kit). 2. I like seeing Mackie in the first kit. Is that a sign that he might be captain next year? Just speculating, like. 3. I like seeing Green in the goalie kit. Does that men he is staying? I have not seen any rumors that he is leaving. 4. Who is the bloke wearing the Denis the Menace kit?
